1992 Ford Aerostar
Faults:
Bought second hand at 314000km. spedometer and radio both out recently. but I understand with the current mileage, things will go wrong, nothing I can't do without. But, today, starter died. anyone know if it's easy enough to fix the starter?
General Comments:
Overall, OK. brakes are a bit on the slow side. electronics seem to go wrong though. anyone know if it's easy enough to fix the starter?
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

I just bought a 1992 Ford Aerostar 5 months ago. It is my second Aerostar... the last one hit a deer, and never was right again, which was a shame since it had given me 230,000 miles of almost trouble-free service. I think the Ford Aerostar is the best vehicle ever made! I really love my "new" 92 model because it has AWD. Here in New Mexico, we can take the van off-road, climbing rough mountain trails and never worry about getting stuck. Barring a catastrophic accident, I will drive it the rest of my life. Whatever my baby needs, she will get gladly. I was very lucky to find one that looks like brand new inside and out-not a dent or scratch anywhere. Everything works perfectly at 187,000 miles. It also gets 20mpg in town and 23mpg on the highway at 75mph. I would describe my relationship with my Aerostar as a love affair.
When I read about people who have had bad experiences with Aerostar I just scratch my head. What did you people do to them to cause them to act that way?
