1994 Ford Bronco XLT 5.8
Summary:
A legend
Faults:
Nothing has really gone, just basic tuneups (cap, rotor, wires, and plugs along with fuel filter).
I also added a 6 inch lift kit.
General Comments:
I have always loved Bronco's, and bought mine in 2004. It is the XLT equipped with the 5.8 liter 351 Windsor engine with the E4OD automatic.
The one word that I would use to describe the engine is workhorse, because it is the epitome of what a truck engine should be, Lots of low end torque with extremely good reliability.
Another high point of the vehicle is the well laid out interior, which gives lots and lots of room for a larger person or for carrying stuff around. I also feel that the quality of the materials used in the interior is of a rather high quality, with the seats holding up great without any tears or noticeable wear.
Next I will go into the driving dynamics of the Bronco. Unlike many other big trucks, I find the Bronco to be a very good handling and driving truck.
Throughout my ownership, I did add a 6 inch lift kit for looks that has taken away some of the mobility, but I am still not afraid to swing the truck around a turn.
Acceleration from the big ole 5.8 liter is effortless, and it never feels like it is lacking in power, and will throw you into the back of the seat under full throttle, while working in unison with the wonderful E4OD automatic that delivers very smooth and decisive shifts, which are always on target.
Another great part to the drivetrain is the use of a manual four wheel drive shifting mechanism, that is much more reliable than the complicated electronic mechanisms found in many trucks today.
I have also added a set of WARN locking hubs and would recommend those to anyone.
Overall I would have a hard time parting with my truck, and feel that Ford should revive the full size Bronco, as it is the ultimate truck.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Every single bronco made from the 80's on had an electric rear window with tailgate, so this is not a goodie-goodie option.
