Faults:

Replaced Carb.

Replaced Power Steering Pump.

Replaced Headliner.

General Comments:

I purchased My Bronco II for $400.00 dollars because the carb was bad and the local mechanic told the lady, "all that black smoke means the engine is about to blow". I swear I told her he was mistaken. She did not believe me and I bought it.

At 123,000 miles I replaced the tires with larger 235/75R15 tires. I was very happy with the performance of this truck until then. While I am not dissatisfied with the performance now the change in size made a huge difference in acceleration. It does get better fuel mileage and I will not be re-gearing it.

The fact that it has solid lifters is a pain, but not too difficult to live with as Valve Adjustment is not that hard. I thought that was a thing of the past.

My Bronco II has never made me walk and is terrific in the snow and mud. I love this thing.

I spend a lot of time on the road driving between International Falls, MN (where I live) and St. Paul, MN, and have had no major problems on the road. Only problem on the road has been a radiator cap that failed and allowed the coolant recovery tank overflow.

There is no rust on this truck except for a few paint-chips up front that have a little rust in them and the front bumper.

I replaced the headliner with a flamed one that I did myself. It really looks good and gets allot of comments.

Faults:

The U-Joints went out on me about 6 months after getting car, but they were the originals. Valve Covers had to be changerd twice. Radiator had to be replaced due to age. Smog pump went out and had to be replaced.

General Comments:

My Bronco 2 gets me to were I need to go, although at times things do go wrong with it. It has never left me stranded to long though, unless it was a bad repair done on my part.

4x4 is really fun, although on city streets this car chews up more gas than power it puts out. This truck has no horsepower, but a nice amount of torque.

Interior is falling apart, but that is due to age. It's a 1984 and the seats are still in great condition, but I ripped out the headliner since it was falling on my head.

This car really hates the cold, and the carburetor doesn't help. Unless you pop it in neutral and give it a bit of gas, it will stall on you. During the summer though it's a fun car, I take it on road and camping trips all the time.

Faults:

Clutch (Dad's fault.)

U-Joints.

Air Conditioner/Blower Motor.

Parking brake problems (cables, tension arms)

General Comments:

Lacks the kind of power I would really like.

While it lacks power it can and has pulled me and other friends out of the mud.

The 4x4 makes it a heap of fun.

Very dependable truck, it's never left us stranded.

Great platform for a lift kit.

It does eat up the gas a little bit quick.

Faults:

Engine.

U-Joint.

Clutch.

Throw-Out Bearings, and the shaft it sits on.

Paint.

Normal Maintenance.

General Comments:

I live this vehicle, I'm fairly hard on cars and even with all of the crap I put it through it is still keeping up.

I put throw-out bearings because it went bad, I had it replaced, the guy didn't know that it had destroyed the shaft it sits on so I had to take it back. Then a few months later the same thing began to happen, I suspect the mechanic didn't shim it, so now its sitting in my driveway until I have the money to fix it, I won't take it to the same guy, I'm taking it to some place like Midas where I can get the work guaranteed.

Great vehicle for a stereo system, plenty of room in the back paneling for extra speakers.
