1988 Ford Bronco II Eddie Bauer
Summary:
A great vehicle which I hope to have for many years to come.
Faults:
Driver's seat has tilted to the inner side as my father, who owned the car before me, would lean back on that side when getting into the car.
Have had the battery die without warning when lights have not been left on. Had it jumped, worked fine.
Alternator needs to be replaced, is still the original item. Has worn very well and is to be expected this far into the car's life.
4WD right axle is rusted through.
Shocks are leaking, though it is not highly noticeable.
Have had to have the transmission replaced.
The bracket which hold my spare tire onto the back has started to pull away from the main body of the rear door.
General Comments:
I've loved this truck ever since I started driving it when it still belonged to my parents. Very dependable.
Even with the warning that "this vehicle may tip" the Bronco II handles very well, driving more like a car than a truck. Very nice for twisty residential streets.
Driver vision is wonderful in this vehicle. With the large side windows and built in headrests there are no major blind-spots.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Hi Steve, I have an `88 bronco 11 that I love also! But as you stated "Rusty, but Trusty". Do you know of anybody that makes tubs, or quarter panels for these? Any information on this subject will be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks! Mike, Alpena michigan, Just north of Detroits salt mines...
