2000 Ford Contour SE 24 Valve V6

Summary:

Best car that Ford has ever made

Faults:

Well one night I was driving down a road and I hit a hog. I was doing about 85 miles per hour, and all it did was make a tiny little whole in the bumper and bust the radiator. But other than that nothing.

General Comments:

This car is one of the best cars I have own in my life. It has a nice design, and when you turn the headlights on and the fog lights, and look straight into the grille at the Ford symbol, the car means business (it looks mean).

The spoiler on the back makes is look so much nicer, and the wheels are really nice.

The seats are so comfortable. They fit my body so nice, I felt safe.

The take off power is amazing. With the 24 valve V6 this baby can fly. It handles like a 30,000 dollar car.

The radio is OK.

But other than that, I will have this car for a very long time.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

What was the hog doing on the road? Hogs belong on the grill, the charcoal grill to be specific.

Your general comments read like a poem!

It is so obvious that you work for FORD, The contour/mystique was one of Fords worst cars ever made. Sure it handled OK, but that is all that it had going for it. Try taking this car to a transmission shop and they will tell you how much they hate this car.

I doubt this person works for Ford, but instead likes their car, which is fine by me. I personally only like the Contour SVT, but that is because I love fast cars. As for the Contour being one of the worst cars Ford has made, I really doubt that I can think of several vehicles that Ford made that were much worse - ever heard of a Pinto, Taurus, Tempo Aerostar, Windstar/Freestar or Granada. Need I continue?

In fact the Contour won a few awards when it came out.

The Contour was on Car and Driver magazine's Ten Best list for 1995, 1996 and 1997.

The Contour was also named as an Automobile Magazine All Star for 1995, 1996 and 1997.

In Europe where it is sold as the Mondeo, it's now nearing the end of its second generation, and serving as the basis for the Jaguar X-Type. It was elected Car of the Year in 1994.

2000 Ford Contour ex not sure

Summary:

A waste of a good loan

Faults:

When I first bought the car, the used car salesman (Don't EVER trust them) told me great things about the car. I bought the car thinking, as he told me, that it just needed an alignment. Boy, was he ever wrong. Not only have I had **6** alignments done on this car within the past 2 years, I've had to replace a wheel bearing, the fuel sending unit, a trans axle, a catalytic converter, AND needed 3 tune-ups for it to be a decently drivable car.

General Comments:

DO NOT BUY THIS MODEL!!! I have been a long time Ford owner, and I can honestly say that one of the main reasons I bought this car is because I trust the Ford name. This car is making me rethink that loyalty.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

The Ford Contour was recently taken off the market because there are cheap. For your money you should have got a Chevy Cavalier, or a Ford Escort (depends on your needs). I know for a fact the Chevy Cavaliers are not bad cars. My sister owns a 98, 2.2L. It can cruise at 110mph, but a little shaky. It handles great, and is VERY reliable (at least with my experiences) Just my two cents. Thanks.
