2022 Ford Escape

Summary:

Not great, not horrible, just meh

Faults:

Passenger side door hinges squeak loudly.

General Comments:

We rented this car for a week. My general thoughts and opinion were that it was neither good or bad. It was just OK.

The positives: Good ride height. Surprisingly quick acceleration. Back seats were reasonably roomy and didn't feel cramped. The navigation system worked fine even though it wasn't as intuitive.

The bad: Surprisingly poor fuel economy. During the entire time we drove it it barely managed to get 21MPG. Most of the time we got around 20. The engine continuously made a sort of loud, annoying buzzing sound. The interior looked and felt cheap. The car only had 4,000 miles on it yet the chrome plating was already wearing off of the power window buttons. Just way, wayyy too much cheap black plastic everywhere. I guess the good thing would be if you had lots of kids and pets you could wash it off easily. But the interior was not really a nice place to be.

And one of the doors was already making a nasty squeaking noise when opened and closed. Again- something that a brand new car should not be doing. Another thing that really gave me no confidence that it was going to hold up that well with age.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know
