1994 Ford Escort LX Wagon 1.9 Liter 4 Cylinder

Summary:

Good car for daily driving

Faults:

Nothing serious has ever gone wrong with this vehicle. I have had to replace normal items such as spark plugs, fuel filters, and air filters.

General Comments:

This has been an excellent car that I use as a daily driver to let my show truck rest during the week. We purchased it used for around $3,500 and have put over 100,000 hard miles on it with minimal problems.

The performance is lacking, but the car makes up for it with it's almost 40 miles per gallon fuel efficiency.

The interior is roomy and has plenty of room for my stereo equipment, work equipment, and a friend or two.

1994 Ford Escort LX 1.9

Summary:

Best car I ever had out of all vehicles

Faults:

The only problems I've had with the car was the air meter sensor and ball joints. Just needed to be replaced. No problems since.

General Comments:

Car is a very good reliable vehicle. Runs great on gas. I think its that certain year that the car had its best make. The car is very powerful. I'm putting things into the engine that most cars can't have and its improving its performance. It never let me down. I beat on it so bad one day to see if it's a car that can handle roughness and it had proved itself to be one of the best built vehicles of that year.I've had other high performance cars and I think they should be call rice boxes because they're crap.

1994 Ford Escort LX 1.9

Summary:

Best car ever, I'm not buying again without a mechanic looking at it first

Faults:

I bought the car from a mechanic and I thought I was getting a deal, but the guy really forced me and my mom to buy it because I guess he hated it.

He said there were new brakes and tires, but that's all I cared about at the time. The guy wouldn't even let me take it to a mechanic.

After I bought it (big mistake) I took it to a mechanic and the person handed me two pages of things that were wrong with it Tie rods etc.

General Comments:

Yes I would buy another escort... which I am, I love it, driving it is so fun... next time I'm not letting anyone take advantage of me. I definitely recommend this car.

1994 Ford Escort LX 1.9 single cam

Summary:

With a manual transmission, it's reliable, and easy to drive at low engine speeds.

Faults:

Clutch burned up at 105000 miles.

Transmission input shaft bearing went out at 110000.

Coil pack burned out at about 103000 miles.

General Comments:

The Escort is a very good car, considering the abuse it receives.

The manual transmission takes much abuse, but the automatic will not; I've owned both.

The body roll is sometimes more than you'd like.

The handling may seem a little loose, but it's always safe and predictable.

With some modification, it turned into a quick, little car with a strong midrange powerband.

With the modifications, it gives a very satisfying tire chirp going into second gear.

It's never left me stranded on the side of the road.

It has a tendency to run at a warmer temperature than I've come to expect from other cars, but not a problem, as long as it's flushed regularly and kept full of coolant.

After 120000 miles, the last 27000 driven fast and aggressively, it still gets 30 mpg.
