2000 Ford Escort ZX2 Ztec
Summary:
Good car with its small problems
Faults:
About 45000, my serpentine belt broke while driving on the thruway.
100,450 miles, the stabilizer bar broke.
Pipe leading into the heating core broke (multiple holes).
Finding and replacing fuel filter.
Car shakes when idles/shuts down.
General Comments:
Finding and replacing the fuel filter was very hard. Hoping if you do this, you find a friend with long arms. Just take out the air intake system.
Fixing the pipe leading into the heating core pipe was only $50, but the time to take it out and the extreme patience to put it back in were priceless.
Car doesn't shake anymore, replaced the fuel filter and replaced the stabilizer bar, wondering which one of the two helps more, but car almost never shakes anymore. Hope this helps with other people's problems.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I love the acronym that you came up with! I was going to write a scathing review on the worst piece of crap I've ever driven, but other people's horrifying experiences kinda humored me. This model/make/company is so horrible it's laughable. I do not know why they continue making cars to these days. To call them cars is an overstatement. Let's just say owning an Escort ZX2 almost made me want to swear off cars altogether. Never, ever, ever, ever buy a Ford!!!
