Faults:

At 28k, found out transmission cooler lines are leaking and will need replaced because they are too rusted through. I was told by 2 mechanics that these parts should last the life of the vehicle.

Also at 28k had to replace front brake pads and have rotors resurfaced.

Both rear emergency brake cables will also need to be replaced, due to them not "releasing" once the emergency brake is taken off.

General Comments:

Overall, a fairly reliable car.

Pickup not the greatest, but will do.

Faults:

There is a little bit of vibration when the car is idle.

Rear defroster works slowly.

A little bit of wear on the leather wrapped steering wheel.

General Comments:

It is a nice car.

It runs very smoothly and quietly.

Has a nice sound system.

Perfect for high school/college/non-married persons.

Good pickup, not much get up and go like a normal sports car would have. Normal pickup compared to sedans.

Faults:

In the first 12000mi I have had the transmission replaced 2 times. At 24000mi I had the throw out bearing replaced. The molding on the window is starting to fade.

General Comments:

I love this little car. My first 4cyl car that I have ever owned. this car has been beat to death. I have taken this car to various road courses around the east coast and it has impressed me every time. the best thing that they put in this car that is not well known is it has a fluid locking diff in the transaxel. so when you take off you're not spinning one wheel at the line.

Faults:

So far nothing is wrong with the car. I get oil changes every 3 months, and follow all the recommended maintance in my owners manual.

General Comments:

I LOVE MY ZX2!!! It's a zippy little car. I get great gas mileage and so far it has been very reliable.

It is small, and doesn't have much head room, so if you're over 6 feet you may want to reconsider, the other thing is when you use the windshield washer, and your window is down, prepare for some fluid to flow right in though the open window...YUK! Other than these slight issues... I have no complaints.

Faults:

The car's shifter was so tight that when used in warm weather, it was very difficult to shift. Dealer replaced mechanism with no hassle.

General Comments:

I have toured Elkhart Lake Wisconsin race track in this car and it's cornering is even more remarkable there.

It is super handling on the road also.

Faults:

1 month after purchasing the car in Canada, moved to Arizona where the rear taillight cover completely melted off the vehicle. Also part of the dashboard where the stereo had been installed melted, leaving a big piece of plastic dangling. Ford fixed this, but I wasn't impressed with the fact they originally just 'glue' the car together.

1 1/2 years after purchase, the air conditioning unit broke and I also had steam pouring out of the hood making the car un-drivable.

General Comments:

The gas mileage is great and I find it very comfortable to drive, but I wouldn't really recommend the car to others.

Faults:

Car would not go in reverse from the second day I bought it. I have brought the car in at least 4 times to have them fix this problem and they could never find anything wrong!

Moon roof broke. After they ordered the part it took them forever to get the part in. Ford said that even though it would only take like 15 minutes to replace the part, that I would have to leave the car there for at least a day! They also would not let me make an appointment to bring it in.

Car alarm broke. It would just start going off for no reason! This would happen during the night, while my car was parked at work, everywhere!

Air conditioning broke. Steam started blowing out all of my vents!

General Comments:

This is the worst car ever and I would never recommend a Ford to anyone!

The service department is never nice or helpful. I have tried going to 4 different Ford dealers with my car and they are all the same. They treat people extremely poorly no matter your age or gender.

I do not understand how a company can make such a poor quality vehicle.
