1988 Ford Expedition Turbo Coupe 2.3 Liter turbo

Summary:

It only takes 1 word to describe it, Awesome

Faults:

I replaced the head gasket at 155,000 miles because someone had previously replaced it with an after market part. That is a big no no because the after market does not have the o-ring seal for the oil passages to the head.

I will be replacing the a/c compressor. Ford can still supply the part, but super expensive.

General Comments:

I had seen these car around since their inception and didn't think much about them. You know being a motor head from the 60's if it didn't have lots of cubic inches it couldn't be fast or fun to drive. Lo and behold up pops this car from someone wanting a truck that I had for sale and no cash. I accept this Turbo Coupe as payment for the truck. Even with the repairs that I have made and those that will need done, it is an awesome ride for a 4 cylinder. I now have the bug to restore it to it's original glory.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

What member let this though? The Expedition came out in 1997 and is a coupe, not a coupe, certainly not available in turbo or a 4 cylinder.

Sounds like he's talking about a 1988 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe and just clicking on the wrong model.

Gosh, with a 4 cylinder, that Expedition must be a real speed demon! Honestly though, I think he did just click on the wrong vehicle name.
