Faults:

I have purchased Ford F150s since 1979. I have had good reliability out of all except my current 2004 supercrew.

While driving at 60 MPH, the truck started shaking violently. I could hardly hold on to the wheel. I resumed the trip and the violent shaking started again.

I took it to the dealer and they could find nothing wrong. The next day, it did it again. The shaking is violent. You have to pull off of the road. I did notice that it did the violent shaking on asphalt. I called the dealer and said that I was going to have to tow the truck in. They finally found (with the aid of a ford specialist) that the backing plate on the emergency brake was recalled and they replaced it. The emergency brake cable would bounce and pull the rear brake on while driving. No wonder I could not hold onto the wheel. Replaced Rotors, calipers, brakes, on front after complaint at 35,500 miles under warranty. I believe that the truck should have been recalled because of the vibrating brake cable... my last Ford.

General Comments:

I do not trust Ford because of the violent vibration caused by the violent backing plate. Nice truck, but no more Fords for me.

Faults:

Have not had a single problem with the truck. not so much as a light bulb has gone out. when I bought the truck the loading mechanism for the 6-disc CD changer was stuck, but Ford replaced it under warranty with a brand new OEM unit.

General Comments:

I have owned a LOT of vehicles and I have never been as satisfied as I am with this truck. the smooth V6 offers adequate power under normal driving conditions although there's not much umph when you step on it. I moved from Pennsylvania to Florida with a big motorcycle in the bed as well as a dual axle Uhaul trailer loaded to the gills trailing behind. of course I had to down shift on the big hills, but I was very impressed with it's performance. I averaged about 13mpg under the load, which is only 4-5mpg less than normal.

Cabin is pretty quiet, 60/40 split bench is comfy and sits high so you don't feel like you're surrounded by truck. 80mph on the highway isn't quite as silky as my dad's Lincoln, but it sure is awesome for a truck.

Faults:

Nothing is wrong with the truck.

General Comments:

I have the best truck in my whole neighborhood.

I got it stock, but then I hooked up chrome all over the bottom side, and I added a brush guard. I hooked up some grills, and 22' spinners and wildcat step bars.

I've got the factory sound system, and it's loud and everybody likes it.

The seats are comfortable and this truck is strong.
