2006 Ford F150 Lariat 5.4

Summary:

Good truck for the money

Faults:

No problems yet.

General Comments:

So far my 2006 F150 Lariat has been a good truck. I traded a 2005 regular cab FX4 for the Lariat.

The leather interior is nice, and the truck is great looking inside and out.

The climate control system is a little annoying; trying to change the settings while driving.

I would recommend buying used, as the sticker for this truck new was in upper $30,000 range, and you can pick up a used one with 30 to 40k miles in the 15 to $20,000 range, and add the Ford extended warranty, which is basically the same as the original factory warranty.

2006 Ford F150 Lariat 5.4L

Faults:

I lost the ABS power brakes shortly after the factory warranty expired.

The vehicle still had brakes, but you had to stand on the brake pedal to make the truck stop. Even then it was difficult to stop the vehicle. I took it to an independent repair shop and they discovered and repaired a vacuum line leak. That was all that was wrong with it.

Otherwise, it has been a pleasure to own the vehicle.

What!? The warranty out on a 2006. Don't think so. Also the ABS had nothing to do with it. Vacuum leak only made the truck like a very long time ago when they were unassisted.

If you'll notice the reviewer CLEARLY STATED that the mileage was 40,000 miles. The warranty on the 2006 ran out at 36,000 miles. I recently looked at a one-year-old car that had 115,000 miles on it (a Chrysler Sebring used by a travelling sales rep). Lots of people put lots of miles on vehicles in a short time.

I can't believe I missed the mileage, but It's is just passed bumper to bumper. I the reviewer needs a better dealer. Such a safety thing in my local Ford dealer in Canada took care of such things. I'm surprised that was not the case here. There a lot of things covered after the basic 36000 also. At least here anyway. Also 115000 miles 184000 kl in 365days. I drive the hwy and It's team trucks and only a few single trucks get that kind of mileage in one year. Must be a dedicated sales rep to never be home.
