1999 Ford F250 5.4 triton V8

Summary:

Perfect truck

Faults:

Serpentine belt/radiator hoses - 57000.

Front brakes - 62000.

Full tune up - 81000.

Front brakes - 118000.

Serpentine belt/radiator hoses - 122000.

Rear brakes - 132000.

Alternator - 160000.

Full tune up - 160000.

Front brakes I'm doing again next week at 177000 or 178000.

Besides that, a few sets of tires, oil changes, trans filter changes, coolant changes etc.

General Comments:

I've had it since brand new, and has never disappointed me. No major problems yet, and I'm commuting 1000 miles a week in it.

Comfortable seats, nice interior.

Never had a problem towing, and hauling heavy loads, and the transmission still shifts almost like new.

Definitely seems more worth it. And very reliable for a gas powered engine. Seems more reliable than a lot of the diesels Ford, and other manufacturers are putting out, that have lots of problems, and spend a lot of time off the road.

I'm keeping it until it becomes a problem, and I have to start putting a lot of money into it.

1999 Ford F250 XLT 7.3 Power Stroke

Summary:

There is nothing on the market in this class I would rather have

Faults:

As purchased, the truck pulled to the right while driving even on the best roads. Marshall Ford's service people (where I bought the truck) said it's supposed to be that way. Hummmm...

At 6000 miles, the speed sensor in the rear end went bad, was replaced without problem under warranty Mac Haik Ford. Front end was also properly aligned and it drives straight as an arrow. Thumbs up to Mac Haik Ford! All under warranty.

No other issues to date.

General Comments:

The most sturdy, well built truck I can imagine.

Diesel power and fuel mileage are second to none in this class of truck.

I work this truck hard, towing and hauling both for work and pleasure, no issues with either.

Comfy interior with excellent placement of controls for everything.

Air conditioner really handles the Houston heat especially for a crew cab.

1999 Ford F250 XLT 6.8 V10

Summary:

A truck that says "Get out of my way"

Faults:

The following are things that I had to replace as soon as I bought the truck, or very soon after:

Front Brakes, & then Rear Brakes.

Needed new muffler. Old one was bad. (Don't replace with a glasspack)

General Comments:

This truck has a very Powerful V10.

Gas mileage is about 12.5 miles per gallon average.

Truck has a very well built suspension.

I like that you can get lots of aftermarket items, like grille guards, wood dash kits & so on.
