1995 Ford F350 7.3 turbo diesel

Summary:

Best work truck possible

Faults:

Starter went bad, and also the AC unit had to be replaced.

General Comments:

I find this truck to be the best in relationship to power, comfort and safety.

I will be taking this truck to South America soon. I will not worry because I can rely on the 7.3 turbo diesel on board. Jungle and cities, this truck belongs!

1995 Ford F350 XLT 7.5

Summary:

Gas sucking man's truck

Faults:

So far, nothing has gone wrong with this truck.

General Comments:

I just bought this F350 dually 7.5 liter V8 to pull my 38' 5th wheel. It has only 135k miles on it and runs very smooth. Transmission shifts well, and seems to have no issues so far.

I only paid $3,500.00 dollars for this truck, but I got a lot of truck for the money. There are no rattles in the interior and no rust (Texas truck). Everything on this truck seems to be heavy duty, and feels like I'm driving an aircraft carrier. I love it when people get out of my way due to the size of this truck.

I've had several F-Series trucks, and all of them have served me well, as I'm sure this one will too.

The only thing I don't like is the gas mileage. Gets about 7 to 10 MPG. To be expected considering what this truck was designed to do.

The 7.5 FI V8 has more than enough power to pull just about anything! A lot of people brag about the 7.3 turbo diesel which is a great engine, however the 7.5 liter is a pulling monster. Nothing like big block power that needs no turbo! I would recommend any F350 with the 7.5 FI V8 or 7.3 turbo diesel for your pulling needs; both are great engines wrapped in a well proven truck. Just don't expect to pass any gas stations.

1995 Ford F350 XL 7.3 turbo diesel

Summary:

A gift from god

Faults:

Slight transmission pan gasket leak.

General Comments:

Extremely great vehicle used to pull 3,000lb. race car and 2500lb. trailer. Can't tell I'm pulling anything and works with ease. Best used vehicle I have ever bought and I have had over 25 used vehicles.

You're calling it the best used vehicle you've ever had after driving it for only 1500 miles? And it's leaking fluids too?

I bought a 1995 Ford F350 dually Powerstroke 5 years ago with 50k. Now it has 111k.

I've used it solely as a car hauler. I get 17 MPG empty & 13-14 MPG loaded.

I have replaced the belt tensioner, replaced torque converter with extreme duty (don't back uphill with heavy loads) & the lift pump, besides brakes & maintenance.

Dodges can make the grade too.

No one I know who hauls every day drives GM trucks; the gear boxes don't seem to hold up.

I agree with comment 2:35. I don't haul heavy loads of any kind, but if I did I wouldn't even consider GM. They can't haul a load in general, heavy or not.

1995 Ford F350 XLT 7.3 Powerstroke

Summary:

I love my truck

Faults:

I replaced the glow plugs at about 200k because I had doubts about them working properly. Also I replaced the injectors at the same time. And now at 245k I have a feeling the turbo is going bad because I cannot hear it spin up anymore, even when you stomp on the pedal.

General Comments:

This is one tough truck, I like being able to beat little F150's with a truck that weighs about 7300 pounds. It has been a very reliable truck for me, I haven't ever really had to bring it into the shop except for the glow plugs and the injectors. It is my kind of truck, I love having a crew cab for more people, but still be able to put things the box and tow something all at the same time with no problems.
