1977 Ford LTD II 351 W 2BBL

Summary:

Big, Fun and Fast!

Faults:

Small tears in the seats.

Sticky caliper.

Very, very small amounts of surface rust.

Runs perfect.

General Comments:

I am VERY happy with this vehicle. I had a 77 model before that I wasn't so happy with, but it wasn't in as good shape.

This car rides very good, has LOTS of room, is very quick, does good on gas, and takes corners well. It also pulls my 1100LB boat up ramps with ease. The low ground clearance does get on my nerves though.

Overall, a very good car.

A true classic!

Faults:

Just the regular maintenance, tires, brakes and battery.

General Comments:

One of the most reliable vehicles my family had when I was growing up. Very safe, comfortable (especially when we used to go to the drive in movie theaters), reliable and never rusted.

These tanks of their era were also very powerful, but alas with gas going through the roof now the LTD2 Station Wagon is, but a distant memory! That metallic medium brown paint job was very special!

Wow non rusted vehicle hahaha mine is so rusted, but it's a 1979.I'm restoring it.

We have a 1977 LTD 2 Wagon in pristine condition. With 3 kids it's worth the extra gas instead of car payments. I wish there were others like us around who want to restore and reuse these classic beauties. I wonder how many are actually left?

If we could get it started in the driveway, it would get us there and back. Comfortable seats and good room. The 351 felt a little over taxed with it.

To whom it may concern.

I own a 1977 LTD II, and was disappointed in your review of this car. My car is a beautiful silver with the 351 Windsor motor that I feel gives the car plenty of go power. I am 29 years old, and have worked on cars since I've been 11. I am also a mechanic in the US Army, so I feel I have a very good understanding of automotive mechanics. This long nosed beauty is by far not past it's prime, and maybe if you'd spend some time driving a classic automobile, instead of new "toy cars", maybe you'd understand that.

By the way, isn't that what cars are for, To get you from point A to point B?

Try replacing the timing chain & distributer. That, coupled with a good tune-up & my '76 LTD 11 is running like new.
