2006 Ford Mustang Premium Coupe 4.6L 3V V8

Summary:

Best sports-car in America!

Faults:

One radio (Skipper 1000).

One fuel pump due to stalling after long cruise.

Many interior rattles, mainly in the dash and rear pillars due to missing insulation or fasteners.

A P062 code that the dealer can't figure out, Ford Tech Services says it is due to water getting on the MAF sensor, but the times it has happened it has been dry outside.

General Comments:

This is my first NEW car and I never even did a test drive, the car still had all of the white plastic on it from the transport truck. I used to own a '70 coupe and loved that car and this one reminds me of it so much with its styling minus all of the mechanical faults. This cars gas mileage is outrageous, I get almost 30 MPG (29.7) in this when I drive normally to work and home (42 miles round trip) and it's a V8!

One thing I wish this had was heated seats, that option is on the '07's, but it was not on the '06's, also the high-beam light should be red and in the shape of a pony like my '70 was, that blue light is way too bright at night.

Now being 23 most people would think that I race this thing around, but I don't, I've worked hard to buy it and it is now my baby which is why I believe I get the mileage I do, now with that being said you do have to exercise all of those ponies sometimes!

It's nice to see a young person with a sporty car driving it like an adult. Good luck with it.

2006 Ford Mustang V6 V6

Summary:

I do not recommend this car to anyone!

Faults:

I highly do not recommend this car, there have been so many problems with it.

First, the door handle frame around the window buttons became loose.

After that, the cover over the light in the trunk broke off.

Then the part that you use to push the seat up from the top broke off in my hand when I pulled it one day. I was so upset.

Also, another thing was one day while driving, the driver side speaker started to sound scratchy because the speaker was blown.

Then one day I went to move the shifter that jammed up and did not want to move, and the plastic piece around it broke.

Also, when driving the steering wheel after 10,000 miles, the wheel started shaking and it's a horrible feeling. They tried everything to fix it, but every time I left the same problem was there, it never changed.

When ordering any warranty replacement parts, it also takes forever to get them in. I waited and had to deal with the problems being broken for almost three months.

General Comments:

This car is a sharp looking car.

The seats are a great design.

I like how the dash lights can change so many colors.

It picks up speed very fast.

One thing, this young person should remember is in domestics you have to gradually break them in, not break them. I have an 05 with about the same mileage and no problems ever.

Sounds like no care is taken not even putting stuff in the trunk. Some dudes are like that..

2006 Ford Mustang GT Premium 4.6 liter V8

Summary:

A great new car ... highlly recommended.

Faults:

Two plastic interior trim pieces were loose.

Auxiliary power point in center console was inoperative.

General Comments:

While not as high-tech as some other cars, the Mustang shows that proven technologies can still be used to create an entertaining car.

The Mustang's 4.6 liter V8 is intoxicating... providing ample horsepower and incredible torque. Surprisingly, I've been getting about 20 mpg in mixed driving.

Commuting has become quite pleasant in my Mustang. The driver's seat is supportive, and its bottom cushion is comfortably high off the floor. The interior decor is really entertaining. Yes, there is a lot of hard plastic in there, but it looks quite durable. One glitch: the stitching on the steering wheel is a bit rough to the touch.

Exterior styling is retro, tough, and distinctive. Even though there are plenty of them on the roads, I still get my fair share of admiring looks.

While its ride is compliant, handling can be a bit floaty. Perhaps its relatively high center of gravity is the culprit. Regardless, this is an extremely rewarding car to own ... especially at its mid-twenties price.

The Mustang GT is hard to compete against. It is a tremendous bargain in a beautifully styled and well built car, that offers performance characteristic of cars costing ten grand more.

Pontiac encountered a major problem in marketing their excellent Australian built GTO here because of the huge difference in price. All in all, no car currently made can touch the Mustang GT for all out value and great performance.

I'm impressed (but not surprised) that you get 20mpg out of yours. Ford has done a lot to increase fuel efficiency even in their larger and more powerful engines. Thank you for a great review of a great car.
