2016 Ford Mustang EcoBoost Premium 2.3L turbo

Summary:

Not a bad car, but not a great car either

Faults:

Nothing went wrong.

General Comments:

This is my 2nd Mustang. First one was a 1979 2.3L turbo and it was possibly the worst car I ever owned.

Fast forward to 2019. I was looking for a fun summer car. Choices were between a 2016 Ford Mustang and a slightly older Chevrolet Camaro. Decided to look at the Mustang.

This car had a 2.3L turbo 4 cylinder with 308 HP and a 6 speed automatic. Race Red with black leather interior. Very comfortable and very quick to speed. And very good mpg.

I used this as my daily driver on nice days. My wife and I would go on rides on back roads.

But the more I drove it the more disillusioned I became with the car. Build quality, while better than the '79, showed that it was not a high quality car. Door windows would rattle, and, like Henry Ford's Model T, the interior was any color you want as long as it was black.

I have owned several cars with black interior, but the Mustangs interior, along with the small windows, started becoming imposing, almost claustrophobic.

This past spring I noticed that used car prices were going up fast, so I went to a couple of 'We buy Cars' sites to see what I could get for it. Lo and behold I was offered $3,400 more than I paid, and I sold it after less than 2 years.

So I took the money and bought one of my 'Dream Cars', a Mercedes-Benz SL500.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

Interesting insights on the current car's quality.

What kind of things went wrong with the 1979?

Inquiring minds want to know!!!!

In ‘79, it was better to buy a Buick than a Ford. Buick had just released a pretty slick new model that year, too.

The best years were 93-95 before the engine was downsized. Now buy a Cobra with 750 HP.
