1995 Ford Probe SE 2.0

Summary:

For the sake of your mind and your wallet, get something else

Faults:

Lots of little annoying things like interior trim breaking, squeaks and rattles, broken speakers, warped seats, etc.

Other major things such as failed engine management computers, chronic stalling no matter who tries to fix it, steering wheel always twitches at highway speeds and no one seems to be able to fix that either, and there are several buzzes that come from the engine which cause me to think that something serious is going to happen in the near future.

General Comments:

The car is pretty good for the first 50,000 miles or so, after that, get rid of it. The number of problems I've had has been significant and very irritating as well.

The handling is crisp, and the visibility is good. I just don't feel that I'm driving a solid car at all.

The seats are very uncomfortable, especially for trips over an hour, and the fuel economy isn't that great despite it being a four cylinder.

The materials inside look and feel cheap. The power windows make a crunching sound when they close too.

I own a ford probe se and it has 88,000 miles and none of those things have gone wrong with it. I think it is an awesome car, just difficult to sup up. It just all depends on how well you take care of it and obviously you didn't take care of it very well.

Hi I own a probe SE and it has just about 74,000 miles on it and it hasn't had any major problems. you probabley don't treat it right. It is however harder to soup up then most sports cars, but it's still the best car I have ever driven. I have had a 93' firebird and a 90' Probe GT. The SE model is the best all around I think.

I own a 1995 Ford Probe SE, and it has hit 144,424 miles, and it is still going strong. Minor problems, but that comes with the mileage. The person who had it before me didn't even take care of it.

Just put it this way, I am a Chevy fan (all Chevys), but Ford made this car right. It handles well, is a little sluggish before 3000 RPM, but after that it sort of kicks you into your seat.

Overall this is a good buy, and parts are easy to find.

1995 Ford Probe GT 2.5

Summary:

One of the best year round sports cars out there for the money

Faults:

It was time to change the headlight and foglight bulbs. They all went within one month of one another. Other than that, nothing. My mechanic misses me.

General Comments:

With the rising fuel costs and bad weather in the winter, this car is a better choice for most than the V-8 rear wheel drive sports cars like Mustangs and Camaros. From experience I can say that a good set of true snow tires can make this car fantastic in the snow. I have driven many cars through bad snow storms and this one came out on top. Summer tires don't work well in the winter. This car is quite quick as a standard with the V-6, and loves to rev. It is the sweetest transmission I have driven and the handling will amaze most people. And I have no end to the compliments I get on this car.

1995 Ford Probe GT 2.2

Summary:

Ready to rumble

Faults:

I had to replace the brake pads all around and the belts.

The former owner replaced the muffler, and the catalytic converter. I anticipate replacing the oxygen sensor, and repainting it.

General Comments:

I just brought the car a few weeks ago, at a great price, with 113,000 miles on it. With only a few common repairs it runs like a new car. I know, I used to sell Ford Probes at a dealership.

The interior is like new also. The former owner took very good care of the car. It's also black, the best color.

It handles great and runs very fast. With great pickup. Looks awesome, and I get plenty of attention. Also it's fully loaded, including anti-lock brakes. I love it.

When I used to sell them I wanted one bad, but couldn't afford it. Now years later I have one and I am not disappointed at all. I drive in California!
