1995 Ford Ranger XLT 3.0L V6
Summary:
If you can't afford a full size truck this one does pretty well till you can
Faults:
The windshield wipers sometimes have a mind of their own coming on without being turned on and the intermittent wipers do not always work. Occasionally the windshield wipers come on fast with cleaner spraying, but do turn off as soon as you cycle the control.
Door open chime (which is very load and annoying) and dome light stay lit some times after closing the door.
Had a problem with the cam sensor, it was making a terrible squeaking racket and caused a check engine light.
General Comments:
Other than the above statements the truck has been great and done everything I wanted it to.
It has served well on around the town trips and longer road trips.
Pulled light loads without any problems.
The bed will hold a yard of dirt or mulch.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I have had almost the exact same problems with my ranger, as have others I know.
-The interior light, and door chime won't go off, (thus I've had to remove the bulb from the light)
-My wipers work when they decide to whether I need them or not. (Most of the time they won't when I need them most)
- As for the 4 cyl. engine goes, I think it's very dependable, but severely lacking power. This motor in my opinion is very inadequate for such a heavy truck. (My ranger is a long-bed, thus is a bit heavier)
After I found that several others had had these same problems, and my Dealer wouldn't do anything about them, I contacted the factory about it. I asked them why there wasn't a recall for such serious safety problems, and they refused any responsibility for the problem.
-My ranger had less than 30,000 miles on it when I contacted both the Dealer, and the Factory.
Had a Toyota that had over 260,000 miles on it when I gave it to my younger brother, I never had any problems mechanically, or otherwise from the time I bought it new, and even at 260,000 miles it still needed no oil between 3,000 mile changes. Also was still dependable enough to drive cross country.
You don't have to guess what I'll be buying next.
