1997 Ford Ranger XL 2.3L
Summary:
Extremely reliable, but underpowered
Faults:
The interior light does not shut off sometimes. However with by spraying WD-40 on the door hinge the problem is all gone. In the extreme cold in Canada the speedo did not work, but after driving a couple of Kilometers the speedo was back to working.
General Comments:
Overall the truck is more than I expected. It is extemely reliable, but underpowered. When comparing with other makes the ranger was the best reliability for the price.

Proud owner of a very used 1997 Regular Cab standard shift four wheel drive. I only paid $800.00 for this truck, and invested a little under $300.00 to make it road worthy.
Dash lights and cab lights do not work, but the 3.0 power plant and 5 speed transmission more than make up for a few lights.
This truck averages 15 MPG highway with the hubs locked in, and keeps up off-road very well with my best friend's 2008 SJX Jeep.
Really like this FORD!
