1998 Ford Taurus SE 3.0L Vulcan
Summary:
It's a wonder this thing is still going!
Faults:
I have had an issue with the transmission since I bought the car. Only a week after I bought the car, the service engine soon light came on, and I took it back to the original dealership I bought it from. They said it was a transmission error, and I had to bring it to a transmission-specialist. Both the dealership and the transmission people said that, when I bought it in the summer of 2006, the transmission wouldn't last me through to the winter's end. Here it is, the fall of 2007, my SES light is still on, and my transmission is guzzling tranny fluid like nobody's business.
Also, this car tends to overheat very quickly. Some of my friends have said that the thermostat may have died. Whatever the cause, I sure don't mind it in the winter, when I have to wait for the windows to defrost! The heat from the engine is so instantaneous, that it melts the snow quicker than it defrosts the windows!...wait, that's not good, is it?
General Comments:
Meh, it gets me from point A to point B. Need a new car soon.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

I have a 1997 Ford Taurus, I have to agree it is a nice car to drive, but I have so many problems with it I'm dumping the piece of crap. I had problems with the transmission, brakes, power steering pump, and over heating. It has aluminum heads that are now warped from the over heating, so now it want stop leaking oil. The sad thing is it only has 127,091 miles on it. I will never buy any Ford again as long as I live.
