Faults:

Transmission had to be rebuilt @ 183k.

Windows fell off track.

A few engine valves had to be replaced, (minor cost repairs).

General Comments:

Very comfortable ride for a sports car.

Handles and accelerates great for a V6 pushing such a heavy car!

Engine runs like new after 13 years.

Very reliable, this car kept running for me even after the transmission had literally broken and grinded itself into 3 pieces!!!

My favorite car so far! I'll take a T-bird over any other car!

Faults:

Brakes.

Graphic equalizer.

Torque converter.

General Comments:

This is the fastest car I've ever owned. I loved it. When the torque converter started going out, it would not shift into overdrive and would slip until the RPM's were high enough to take off again.

Parts were very expensive and hard to find. Wouldn't recommend this car as a daily driver.

One time on an interstate highway, I had the speedometer pegged out to the trip meter, the turbo charger pushing 15 psi and the tach at the red line. Estimated speed by my local state trooper, 145 mph. Now that's not bad for a 4 cylinder.

Faults:

Heater core has been replaced.

Head gaskets blew.

Parking brakes have seized twice.

Front brakes have been replaced; they were machined twice before being replaced.

Rear brakes have been problematic.

Bearing in the rear axle had to be replaced.

Front struts had to be replaced.

Front wheel bearings were replaced.

Gas tank replaced.

Voltage regulator replaced.

Fan switch seized and melted.

Axle seals had to be replaced.

My fuel pump has started making a noise.

The transmission is starting to slip.

All sorts of seals are leaking.

The car is starting to burn oil.

General Comments:

This car is the epitomy of a death by a thousand cuts. Everything will seem alright and then one day something will just break. $400 later everything is fixed and the car is running like a dream. I get comfortable with it, thinking that it will be good for another 20k, and then out of the blue something else needs fixing. This car nickels and dimes you dry. It all happens slowly enough that I have made the mistake of not selling it long ago.

I maintain the car meticulously. If it breaks I fix it immediately. There just doesn't seem to be any end to the repairs. Totally unrelated items on the vehicle will break.

Faults:

Water pump replaced at 35000.

Driver's side window off the track.

Plastic seat-belt retainers basically disintegrated.

General Comments:

This car is amazingly reliable for a car that is 13 years old. It has barely ever had any trouble and the engine runs like brand new.

The V8 has plenty of power and is very responsive. The gas mileage is the best you can expect from a 302 engine, about 14 city/30 highway.

The car has every electronic option and almost seems like it was way ahead of it's time. The interior is really quiet and I've always been amazed by how comfortable the seats are.
