1988 Ford Thunderbird turbocoupe
Summary:
Hated to retire it, but the next bill would have begun to put me off the car
Faults:
Rear brakes seized, emergency brake has not been used (worked) since 130,000 kilometers.
Fog lights failed early.
Head light units leaked.
Y branch exhaust fails regularly.
Oil pan has been replaced.
Gas tank has been replaced.
Computer has failed twice.
Adjustable suspension has been replaced with Gas shocks.
Transmission has been rebuilt once.
Clutch has failed twice, but No 2 was a result of garage installing a rebuilt, not a new unit.
Windows have pulled out of motor drives several times. A nuisance since the air conditioning gave up long ago.
General Comments:
This is the most powerful and fun to drive car I have ever owned.
Interior comfort is very good, though engine noise is audible.
Seats fit well and the power lumbar is a great comfort.
Even with this mileage on the car, it starts effortlessly and has passed Ontario emissions testing at 360K. and 390K without extra tune-ups.
Economy was good for a 4000 pound car.
It will still turn heads when cleaned up.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I just got a TurboThunderbird 1988 and need a Owners manual for troubleshooting. Does anyone know where I might find one on line?
