1997 Ford Thunderbird LX 4.6

Summary:

This has been a great car for a sticker price of $21,500.00

Faults:

The manifold has gone bad a couple times. The Ford dealers have covered it for me both times and I have never had to pay out of pocket for the repair.

General Comments:

The style of the car is great. I still get complements on it where ever I may go.

The red paint has held up great in the sun and heat in Mobile, Alabama.

The leather seats are as comfy today as they were when it was new.

The moon roof has never, till this day, given me a single problem. It slides back and forth as if it were fresh from the factory. Never, have I seen a drop of water seep in.

The engine is the 4.6 liter and has the best power. If ever needed, the passing power is always there.

I cannot agree with you more sir!

I have recently purchased a 1997 Thunderbird and never want another car!

The passing power is increadble for a car this heavy!

I only wish I had a moon roof!

Seeing how I will NEVER sell the car, I will eventually put one in!

Summary:

My Lugnuts require more torque than your Honda makes.

Faults:

Power Locks started sticking around 66,000 miles.

Other than that, no problems.

General Comments:

This is my first car, and I believe I made a Damn good selection. I bought the car for 2,999 and I love it. It already has plenty of power, although I do intend on making a few modifications to get the most out of the engine.

It handles great.

It looks great.

It rides great.

Its just a truly amazing car.

I wouldn't trade this car for anything, ha well maybe a new corvette.

Just bought my first Thunderbird today. Nobody can tell on the outside (kinda plain) what a fabulous car this is! I'm really pretty happy with it overall - fell like I'm driving a muscle car.

I got my T-Bird May of 2007. It's my first car, paid 2700 for it from the local import shop with a power programmer and the mod 4.6.

I love the car and performance, but hate the 15 inch swirl wheels. Got a set of SuperCoupe wheels for a 100.

Got 6000 invested in it now with struts, springs, and wiring. Working to get cams, exhaust and possibly a forced induction system.

Eats my buds 4g63 turbo AWD Talon daily LOL, and 5.0 birds too. Great car and reliable too!

Summary:

A more comfortable Mustang V8 with IRS that will cruise all day!

Faults:

Unlike some of the people here, I have had no weird maladies with the car's engine. It has been absolutely bulletproof. The whole drivetrain has held together excellent.

The only problem that has come about is that I cannot get this weird vibration out of the front end that comes about from 58mph to about 70. Pretty much this keeps me breaking the law the whole time I drive it. Which is OK by me, as I love driving it fast. I have experienced none of the other problems that other people have here, and that makes me a lucky one I guess.

General Comments:

The car is excellent, especially in straight line performance (in its class). I had it in Germany for 2 years with me (I'm in the military) and it will cruise all day at 120 (it had a factory limiter at 105 but Superchips.com took care of that). Also I will highly recommend to anyone a "standard" set of 4.6 bolt-ons. Chip, pulleys, exhaust, intake, plugs, and wires. It really wakes up the car.

I changed my rotors out to cross drilled (a few more dollars than the stock replacement) and it is MUCH better at braking!
