1995 Ford Windstar LX 3.8 L
Summary:
What a piece of crap!!!!!!!!!!!!
Faults:
ABS light constantly comes on, sometimes with brake light. Checked numerous times. Problem never resolved.
Brakes have always sounded bad, but reassured numerous times there is nothing wrong with the brakes! Right!!!
Head gasket blown, piston cracked, covered by recall, but incurred $550 in repairs cost I was responsible for, supposedly not covered with the recall!
Power door locks and keyless entry system never works.
General Comments:
Wish I would have never bought the first year model. Love the size and room of the Windstar, but hate the hassle of dealing with the recalls and repairs! Scared to drive it with my 4 kids in it because I don't feel confortable with the braking system.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

I bought my 95 Windstar 1 year ago, Aug, 2001. It only had 70,000km on it at the time. It now has 85,000km on it. I had to replace the head gaskets at 75,000km, then only 2 days after it came out of the shop, the motor blew up. It cost me $1300 to replace the head gaskets and then another $4000 to replace the motor. The new motor is very hard on gas, (14 mpg). The dealer tells me there is no problem with the van and it is just one of those things. I tried to trade the van back in, but they wouldn't give me half of what I paid for it. Now I have a brake problem, the ABS is kicking in on dry roads when slowing down. The dealer wants $150 just to look at it, my cure for the time being is to take the fuse out for the ABS. The brakes work just fine without it. This is my first ford, and it will be my last.
