1990 Geo Prizm
Summary:
A long-lasting friend
Faults:
Replaced CV-joints.
Timing belt had to be replaced.
Water pump broke at 294,000 miles.
Some of the interior lighting (such as on the gear stick, clock, and radio) has gone out.
A censor was replaced (I think it was some kind of temperature censor).
The ball-bearings in the tires had to be replaced.
There are two small cracks in the windshield.
The right-side passenger door is hard to open.
The rubber lining on the windshield and windows has begun to come off.
General Comments:
This is a remarkable car. I have not had any major engine problems, and this car has 303,600 miles on the original engine.
I expect to have to replace and fix things on this car, however, it is still in very good condition.
The interior is still in tact, and the ceiling is not sagging at all.
There are of course, some minor dings and scratches, which comes with living down a dirt road.
This car gets good gas mileage and I always call it "invincible" because it has survived so many miles. My friends even made me a cake when it reached 300,000 miles. It read "300,000 and still going."
I love this car because it is very durable. Despite its seemingly loud noises, it is perfect for a college student.

I have to agree with you I also have a 1990 Geo Prizm and it is getting close to 220,000 mile and it still runs like a champ, my paint however didn't hold up as well the clear coat has peeled off in some places, but considering the car is a 90 model and it has never left me stranded I will not dare complain, I commute about 100 miles a day and my car runs and does just as good as some of these new ones on the interstates. My a/c is also ice cold. GEO/TOYOTA really broke the mold when they put this car out on the market, If all cars were this good mechanics would be a lot cheaper. All in all this is a great car and its 100% reliable.
