General Comments:
This car has good handling; even in mountainous territory.
The gas mileage can hardly be beat by any gas-only vehicle.
However, the acceleration leaves much to be desired.
The cheap construction of the plastic parts is a constant worry.
Also, the tiny interior and trunk is difficult on taller people and larger cargo.

My family had a '93 Geo Prizm when I was a kid. It became sort of my car when I was in high school. Sold the car for parts a few years ago, but our Prizm days weren't through. In model year '02 my dad found out that was the last year for the Prizm and we got a new one. Dad got a stick version 3 years later ('02 and same color as the other), but that was totaled in '09. The '02 we got new, which is an automatic, became my mom's car when Dad got the stick. My mom's car, even with 16 years and close to 130,000 miles, is still purring and just as reliable as ever. The only problems are rear end rust (the car was rust proofed, but the fenders still rusted). Ugh, salt! The front fenders have been replaced due to deer dents, but they were rusting anyway. My dad named all these cars, Peppermint Patti ('93), Miss Bluebell (auto '02) and Madame Blueberry (stick '02). Bluebell had to go to the garage this year, her inspection ran out and we were told she needed a new catalytic converter. The garage also replaced the resonator pipe because that could fail, even during work. A lot of money to spend on a car that age, but we're sappy on her. Maybe naming cars leads to sentiment? We were sappy on our little Patti when she was old, but the poor thing was too rusty on the bottom.
