1994 Geo Prizm LSi 1.8 4-cylindar

Summary:

One rocking little compact

Faults:

The seat belts in the front have never worked from day one.

The door panels are not very secure.

The drivers pull down visor rotted of its handle.

General Comments:

This car is awesome. Who can say anything negative about it? Its perfect. We have recommended it to multiple people and multiple people have bought one and continued the trend. We have owned our Prizm for over 8 years and we will probably have it till the wheels fall off. We are even planning to buy anther one.

Most used Geo Prizms are in remarkable condition even though many have accumulated very high mileage. Our Prizm has accumulated over 200,000 miles and is still in nearly new condition.

The bottom line is, treat your Geo Prizm with care, and you will have a friend for life.

1994 Geo Prizm LSi 1.8L

Summary:

Superb car with exceptional value

Faults:

The only items that have failed on this care so far are the alternator, battery, and starter, which are all considered common maintnenance items.

General Comments:

This car is exceptionally well built, easy to maintain, and dependable to a fault. The only reason I purchased this car is because Toyota engineered it, and therefore it is sure to be reliable. The brakes are responsive, the engine quiet and peppy for a 4 cylinder, and the transmission very accurate.

I have not taken this car on a long trip yet, however I plan to eventually because I know that this car will be able to handle it. I commute to work almost 40 miles per day, and the ride is comfortable and quiet. I have put a new C.D. player in to replace the factory cassette player, and that was probably the best decision I have made thus far.

My family has a cult following for Toyota products, and the Corolla, along with corporate cousin Geo Prizm, have been atop the list of our favorites for years. Between all of my relatives, we all have an example of every Corolla dating back to the mid-1980's, including the newly re-styled 2003 model.

Why is there a frown symbol on this review?

Because the reviewer said "no" to "buy another car from this manufacturer"?

I wonder if they said that because they were thinking of the question as applying to Geo, & the specific car being a "Toyota".

I agree, it sounds like they like the car, I really wonder why they put a frown on.

I have a 4-door 1994 Prizm LSI and would buy another and another. I rented a Toyota Corolla and planned to buy one of those until I saw a Geo commercial stating that the Prizm was basically the same car, only $3,000.00 less. Mark it SOLD! Mine has 178,000+ miles on it and has only had tires, brakes and a starter replaced. However, all the inside door handles have pieces broken out of them, but they still function. During an ice storm, the outside handles had pieces pop off of the plate around the handle, but they still function, also. The heater and radio knobs have broken off. The rear windows screech and are hard to roll up & down - always have been. This was the car of a lifetime. I can only hope that, when I do have to 'retire' it, I find something that is just as dependable.
