Faults:

Starter went out at 130,000.

General Comments:

The beauty of the Prism is in its reliability and durability.

After 10 years and 160,000 miles of use, it still runs and looks great.

Everything still works including the AC. The only repair needed has been a starter.

Power is adequate unless there are more than two adults inside.

Fuel economy is another bright spot at 30-36 miles per gallon of regular.

Its negatives are skimpy shoulder and leg room and a somewhat jittery ride at highway speed.

I would not want to be in an accident in this auto as there is not a great deal of metal for protection.

Faults:

Nothing besides simple routine items that wear down with time.

General Comments:

This is a very well made car. In its time it was one of the better small cars on the market, however today its rather lacking compared to the newer cars on the road for instance the 1.6 four cylinder engine is very underpowered with its 105 horse power, its very hard to keep up with traffic, you have to floor the pedal constantly to keep up with everyone else. The most noticable flaw of this car has to be the automatic three speed transmission, it makes highway driving very tiresome, the engine drums loudly at speeds above 60mph. Paint is holding up well for a lower priced car. Interior is still in excellent condition. Overall good car for its age and mileage.

Faults:

Replaced the alternator at 120K miles.

Replaced the starter at 150K miles.

General Comments:

I put 219K miles in ten years (1995-2005), without a single problem. I do plan to do 500K in my Geo.

Paint is still the same, after ten years. No corrosion in any spot.

No wonder GM is having a lot of problems. They discontinued their most reliable line of cars.

Faults:

We had to replace the fuel pump at 80,000 miles.

We had to replace the starter switch when the car had about 30,000 miles.

Nothing other than that.

General Comments:

Having a car go to the shop for repair twice in ten years is pretty good if you ask me.

This car is reliable. Great for students or someone needing transportation to their job.

Gas mileage is good sure, but nothing like what other people have been claiming. I get around 22, on the street.

This car has never failed to start, or stall for no apparent reason.

It still runs like it did when it was new.

The acceleration is impressive for such a small engine yes, but nothing like a 6 cylinder.

The car handles tightly and is very responsive over-all. Acceleration breaking and transmission shifting have never been a problem.

This car feels very safe and sturdy; it was very well put together. It has held up good considering it has been driven every consecutive day we've owned it.

My Prizm is so stripped down it isn't even funny. But it's easy to forget that you don't have power-windows (or any options really) when your car treats you so well.

The engine runs quieter than my Dad's 2002 Volkswagen Jetta. Going 65-70 MPH, this car's engine runs suprisingly smooth, with little or no road noise.

If people try to poke fun at this car, you can simply point out that it was built and designed by Toyota.

My car has lots of use left in it, and I'm confident it will last me through college and beyond. This vehicle is highly reccomended for kids who are low on cash and need a decent set of wheels.
