Faults:

Replaced the muffler once and needs replacement again.

The cloth on the driver seat is all torn up.

The A/C stopped working.

The dashboard is cracked.

At 143,000 the engine is overheating.

Had the struts replaced.

Had the CV joints replaced.

General Comments:

Despite having various problems throughout the life of the car it has been relatively inexpensive to maintain and has been reliable for 12 years.

Faults:

The exhaust manifold is cracked. I keep welding it, but I don't think it's going to last much longer.

The driver's side door is totally messed up. It won't open from inside and the window won't roll up.

The driver's seat is starting to fall apart. I keep covering it up, but it rips up the seat covers after a while.

The dash is cracked, but covered it up with carpet.

The clutch went out at 125,000 miles.

General Comments:

This car has been a great car to play around in. The cost for most part's aren't that high and that makes it more fun to run it hard.

For being so little it can get up and go. With a few adjustments it's been great to race with.

Not a lot of room to put in speakers, but removing the back seat allows for a good sound system to be installed. I managed to fit four 12' speakers and two amps in mine, with enough room for more.

It handles beautifully on any surface and in any weather.

Faults:

My Exhaust Manifold Is cracked, making the car very loud. I try-ed to get it welded back together, but to no avail.

My rear struts are shot, making the car very dangerous on the highway. The rear of the car bounces very easily on even the smallest bump. This also causes excessive rear tire wear.

The Brakes were grinding really bad when I got it.

There is a small gash on the driver's seat.

The back seat is very small, not too many of my friends can fit back there comfortably.

Driver's side door handle is busted, making it very difficult to exit the vehicle.

Driver's side window has come off the track making it an act of congress just to roll the window up and down.

The CV joints are also going out. There's a loud clicking noise while accelerating through corners.

General Comments:

This is a very cheap and reliable car. If it weren't for the small problems the car had when I had purchased it, it would be a very excellent car.

It's also a very quick car for such a small engine. This thing flat carries the mail!

I have beat a numerous amount of car with my Geo! The best one was a souped up Pontiac Bonneville with a 350 engine. Close race, but I won. It was very surprising too many people.

There's not very many places to put extra speakers in this car, due to the size, but I have an excellent stereo system in mine.

It would be nice if parts for this car were easier to find, and a little cheaper.

Faults:

Blown head gasket at 201,000. Didn't actually break, but leaked coolant, causing loss of power and overheating, especially in warm weather.

Broken timing belt tensioner; have yours changed when replacing timing belt or you too, will be stranded someday!

Eats mufflers; get a lifetime warranty.

Rear struts went at 170,000.

Water pump blew at 129,000; have this changed with timing belt. Trust me.

Drivers side seat worn badly.

Thermostat housing leak at about 160,000.

Cracked dash.

General Comments:

Excellent car! If you properly maintain it, it will go far. I did.

Great gas mileage, 36mpg.

No rust and only minimal paint fade.

I would recommend using an engine additive, such as Duralube. I have used it over the entire life of the car, and the engine is as clean as a car with 10,000 miles. My mechanic told me this!
