Faults:

Molding on drivers side keeps falling off, but is not causing a problem.

Alternator replaced around 70,000.

Rear defroster wire came off.

2-wheel vehicle is terrible in foul weather (rain, snow).

Major expense replacing CPI on the Vortex engine around 100,000.

General Comments:

I love the look and handling of my Jimmy in the warmer months, but it is extremely terrible when the road is wet. I understand there is a problem with the Fuel Injection System (CPI), which is very costly to fix. I hope if more complaints are made it will be recalled.

Faults:

Several ERG valves.

3 PVC valves.

2 fuel pumps

1 alternator.

4, yes 4 CPI units, each 13 months apart!

Conveniently 30 days outside the warranty.

General Comments:

This was a very comfortable and nice looking vehicle that was easy to keep looking good, however the reliability of this vehicle was so poor and the expense of the CPI units far out weighed any positive aspects of this vehicle. I can honestly say the check engine light was on more than it was off in this truck. The dealer had it in the shop more often than not. I am very disappointed in GMC not standing behind the CPI units at 800.00 a piece.

I can honestly say I will never own another GMC product. I have lost all faith in the brand. When I traded that truck in last week I felt so relieved, as if they drove off of my chest instead of out of my parking lot. I still look out my window at my new vehicle and feel relieved that the Jimmy is no longer my problem. I hope the next owner of that truck is a mechanic or they will spend more in fixing the thing than it is worth.

Faults:

Drivers seat quit working. Had to change fuel pump twice. I even had to change, the

4x4 plunger to ingage it in 4x4 twice. I even had to change, the fuel regulator.

General Comments:

Well where should I start. It's a really strong truck. It has lots of power, when it runs. Its really hard on gas. If you want to own one of these trucks, you better have a good paying job. Fuel pump $120.00=X2, 4x4 plunger $85.00=x2, fuel regulator $800.00, and its still sitting in the garage, broken down.

Faults:

This is the worst car I ever had, it was nothing but problems since I drove it out of the dealership.

At 10 miles the passenger side mirror fell off the car.

At 25 miles the brakes were soft and had to be replaced.

At 170 miles the transmission was replaced.

At 194 miles the tires had to be replaced.

At 200 miles the idler arm was replaced.

At 275 miles the engine was replaced.

At 400 miles the radiator was replaced.

At 560 miles the shocks/struts were replaced.

At 735 miles the power seats broke and were replaced.

At 750 miles another transmission was installed.

At 1,000 miles I put a for sale sign in the window.

General Comments:

This truck was a serious lemon, it was in the dealer for service more than I drove it. I called GM headquarters with my list of problems and they were not very helpful, they wouldn't even authorize a loaner car for me! I would never buy or recommend a GM automobile.
