1989 Honda Accord LX 2.0 Carburated
Summary:
10 out of 10!
Faults:
Down side:driver comfort on long trips, and flimsy body that rusts fast.
Before cup holders were standard.
No air.
General Comments:
The car still has great fuel economy, a smooth ride and the back seatis very comfy. It's an excellent car for a student or young professional. Gets where you want to go whenever you want. I have owned the car for four years now, and I swear that it always started in those cold Canadian winter days on the first try. Mind you, I do maintain the vehicle regularly.
Only minor repairs had to be done: the after market parts are very cheap and easy to find. The only major work done was my timing belt, and suspension work. The rest is all wear and tear, like brakes, exhaust, tires, tune-ups, etc...
I do recommend this car to anyone!
Up side: Excellent fuel economy and performance.
Its fast! clocked at 125 mph! stock... imagine if I had performance parts!!!???
Stable ride, handling and smooth.
Lots of cargo room.
Last year it was built in Japan... better quality.
Cheap after market parts.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

1989 was not the last year the Accord was built in Japan. A small percentage of Accords are still imported from Japan, although the majority of Accords (and all Accord coupes) are manufactured at the plant in Marysville Ohio... as it's been since 1982 when the plant first opened. There is no quality difference between the Marysville plant production and the plant in Japan.
