1994 Honda Accord EX

Summary:

A great Car

Faults:

Driver's side won't lock or unlock, Power antenna won't go down, timing belt, leather seats starting to wear.

General Comments:

This car is probably the most dependable car I have ever had. I plan to keep it until it will no longer run. I had a 93' Chevy Beretta, and although this car is only 1 year newer, I felt as though it was a brand new car compared to my craper. I recommend Honda's because they'll run forever and they're very reliable. I haven't had to replace anything serious in it!

1994 Honda Accord LX 2.2

Summary:

This Car is durable

Faults:

The seats weren't the most comfortable

CV boot\Joints seemed to wear out quick

Brakes wear quickly\Rotors inadequate.

General Comments:

I owned the car for 9 years after buying it used. The cars engine never once burned a drop of oil, and remained whisper quiet until I traded it in with 275,000 miles on it. It had the original clutch and still achieved 32 mpg over the highway. The body had no corrosion, but small squeaks and rattles began to get louder with age. The car seemed to go through brakes quicker than I expected. And CV boots\joints as well.. Other than that the car performed reliably with only routine required maintenance.

1994 Honda Accord EX Vtec

Summary:

Reliable!

Faults:

Replaced Break Masteer cylinder.

Replaced Rotor.

Antenna will not retract.

General Comments:

This car I got at a great deal when gas prices were going through the roof. I have a Chevy 4x4 and gas was killing me on long trips and I needed extra room when I hauled my kids around as well. So I went looking and found a high mileage Accord and have been pleased. 30 mpg and very I have had to put a few things on it that basically just wore out. I would not think twice about heading out for a long trip in my car. I have about $1500 in this car and it has all the buttons. A moon/sun roof. Six disk cd changer (does not work the best playing burnt cd's in the cold for some reason?) power windows and mirrors and cruise control. It does use a lil oil (about 1/2 quart every 3000 miles) and I do have to replace the brakes a lil more often on this car than I did on my truck. I would buy another in a heart beat and the miles don't matter. After I got her I read of several stories about the many miles put on these lil gems.

I now have 317,000 on this car and have replaced the battery and radiator this winter, but she still keeps on ticking. I do have a few small oil leaks (rear main) but and I believe I am going to have to charge my a/c if I keep her for summer. If not I am very thankful for her cheap, reliable transportation she has provided me.

1994 Honda Accord LX 2.2 liter

Summary:

A car for someone who does a lot of daily driving, but likes to be comfortable and quick doing so

Faults:

Though I have only owned my Honda for 10000 miles. The fact that it is kicking at this mileage blows my mind.

I have noticed honda's of the same year with rust spots over the rear wheels- must be a factory defect.

General Comments:

I am used to owning older full size cars. This car feels very light from the start and on the highway.

It handles like a go-kart, quick and responsive.

The interior was made with all human-factors in mind. From the center conosoles height, to the way the seats fit my body.

Not to mention serious mpg even in the city. I am getting about 320 to a tank right now.

I also had the rust problem over the drivers side rear wheel. I recently traded the car in & its paint & overall condition was in "mint condition" (supported by getting $1k over the KBB value of an outstanding car with 149k miles).

That is a common Honda / Acura problem. If there is a black rubber piece on the wheel well take that off, salt and water sits in between the rubber and wheel well.
