Faults:

Replaced two sway bar fittings when purchased.

No other problems.

General Comments:

I enjoy the drive though the engine is a bit noisy when taking off. There is lots of space in cabin and trunk. Seats are a bit firm for my liking. Really enjoy the sound system.

Performs better in winter with two front snow tires.

Overall, I am very pleased with this car (my first Honda). I will try to update this review every 6 months or so.

Faults:

SRS Light has been on since 45000 miles on indicating Airbag related problem. Other forums refer to a problem with the seat belt sensors as the primary cause.

General Comments:

Great performer. I redline this car almost on a daily basis. Hits 65 mph in 2nd gear and 97-100 in 3rd gear. There are days I drop it into 3rd while cruising at 75 mph just to hear the engine snarl. Acceleration is not great until you go past 4500 RPM, but from there to the engine cut-off point about 6500 RPM it keeps on going strong. I test drove the 2004 coupe with the 160HP 2.4 and that to my surprise felt significantly smoother and more powerful. I was not expecting to feel such a difference from 0.1 lt and 10hp difference. I am bored with it as I have owned it for 6 years, but it simply is not worth getting rid of. What else could I drive that offers so much value, utility, reliability and fun at such a low price. I am estimating it's worth about $11000 currently. Come to think of it Acura TSX (European Accord) with the 200HP 2.4 might be the cure.

General Comments:

Great car, but wish it was built in japan and not the US. the engine is a little weak.

Faults:

For the most part, this has been a great car. I have 60,000 miles and have gone through one full set of brakes, and one front “resurfacing”.

Replaced the original Michelin tires at about 45K with Kuomo’s. (Great tire).

Just had my alternator replaced at 60K.

The EGR value issue was also fixed, which was done via a local shop, and fully reimbursed via Honda.

Aside from that, no major work. Just oil changes and tire rotations, along with the normal required service.

Was recently told that my transmission fluid looked dirty again, however, just had it replaced at about 50K miles.

I did have to replace the LED clock battery, which was simple. The bulb cost about $4 via Honda.

My odometer light is now out, however, not sure I want to take apart the dash. I will consult with my local shop next time I bring it in.

General Comments:

Great overall car. No squeaks or rattles like my 1991 Ford Thunderbird, and 1978 Chevy Camaro from several years ago. I agree that the car is certainly not fast from the start, however, really excels on the highway. It has plenty of passing power at 60+ mph.

Since the transmission warranty was extended to 7/100,000 miles I will probably keep it for a while and upgrade the stereo/speakers.

May look at a 2006 VW Passat or Jetta next with the 2.0 turbo engine.
