2003 Honda Accord EX V6 V6

Faults:

The sun roof is leaking water into the car when I wash it or when it rains. I took the car to the dealer to have the drains cleaned, and the car is still leaking water. I wanted to know if anyone else is having this problem, and if they have a proposed solution? I see 3 other people on this site have had the same problem.

When I took the car to the dealership, the sales rep (really nice guy) told me he thinks there may have been a recall, because hes seen the problem multiple times in the past few months. I checked and I did not find any recalls.

General Comments:

I am satisfied with the car, besides the water leaking into it.

I found this in Consumer's Guide on line regarding the 2003 Honda Accord:

"Sunroof/moonroof: The moon roof may not close completely due to a defective limit switch that must be replaced. (2003) "

If this is a known problem maybe you can get the dealer or Honda to repair it under a "goodwill" fix.

2003 Honda Accord LX 2.4L

Summary:

Outstanding

Faults:

My car had brake judder at 30K miles and the dealer replaced the rotors and pads free of charge.

Radio/Cd player was replace under warranty. Kept ejecting Cd's for some odd reason.

No other issues at all.

General Comments:

This has been the best car that I have ever owned. I have driven a lot of other cars while on business, and nothing even comes close for fit and finish, economy, comfort, ease of use and fun to drive. I had a 2002 Civic Si H/B prior to this car and it was too small and the suspension was too firm. My kids were real mad that I traded the Si since it was a "cool" car, but they are real glad now that they can fit comfortably in this car. In my opinion, Honda builds the best engines in the world. If you look at the detail of the finish, plating..etc. of the components under the hood compared to my daughters Taurus, there is no comparison. You definitely get what you pay for and more with the Accord. I can't wait to see the new model next year, which will be a re-design. I will likely buy a 2008 Accord for my next car. I have also had a 1998 Accord and a 1993 Civic and 1988 Civic. Also had a 1986 Jetta, but will never make the mistake of buying a VW again.

2003 Honda Accord V6 3.0 V6

Summary:

Great car, not as good as some Honda's

Faults:

Hissing noise when turning left.

Brakes replaces at 40,000 miles.

General Comments:

We have had six Honda's. This one has been the least reliable. More creaks and noises. Is does have lots of power and acceleration with the V6, Vtec engine. It gets great gas mileage for an engine with this kind of power. The 6 disc in dash CD player works great. The leather, heated seats are very comfortable. This car has sunroof, spoiler, traction control and power seats. Also has 8 airbags.

2003 Honda Accord EX V6

Summary:

Piece of Junk

Faults:

12,000m - ABS Harness caught on fire, luckily Honda replaced everything. I saved the car with a fire est.

15,000m - Front Brakes and rotors - silent recall.

--- recall on the transmission gear -- no issue with mine.

40,000m - Radio unit goes out.

Car cranks to get it to start, Honda advised its the fuel gauge regulator - when its actually the fuel injectors, which they won't replace.

I wrote American Honda about the fire and asked for a new car because I didn't trust the vehicle. They were NASTY about the whole situation.

I traded the piece of crap in last week. Will never own another Honda again. Refusal to recall things.

General Comments:

Car is not worth the hype.

Sounds like a pretty rare experience with Honda. Even more strange is '02 was the LAST year in that design cycle ('98-'02). It should have been bulletproof, but I do feel your pain. I've suffered with my Ford Focus ('00) to some degree. Hope you have much better fortune with your next car.

I totally agree with this review. My 2003 accord radio screen also went blank and my brakes were 90% Used up after just a year! Honda has quality problems too, and is it worth paying big bucks and 6.5% financing just to get one? I Don't THINK SO!! You should check out some other auto maker that doesn't rip off its customers.
