2001 Honda Civic EX sedan 1.7L I-4
Summary:
A fairly quick car, but not very reliable
Faults:
The lower ball joint completely broke at 2,000 miles.
My front spring broke at 5,000 miles.
Two wheel bearings broke on this car, once at 12,000 miles, the other wheel bearing failed at 18,000 miles.
My automatic transmission failed and would not go into 2nd gear at 24,000 miles. My whole transmission had to be re-built.
The power steering system stated to fail at 31,000 miles.
General Comments:
This car has been VERY unreliable for me. Good thing all my repairs were covered under warranty.
The car is not very comfortable, it's not horribly uncomfortable, but it's not very roomy inside either. You feel and hear almost every bump in this car.
The car is fairly quick for a 1.7 liter, it has decent passing power.
The interior is actually very quiet, even on the highway the cabin stays pretty quiet.
I finally decided to junk the car once the power steering started to go bad. It wasn't worth the time, always having to have it serviced.
I was quite disappointed after all the hype about how reliable Honda vehicles are. Maybe I just happened to get a lemon, I really hope not all Honda products are like this, but I don't think I will ever purchase another Honda vehicle again.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

It's really hard to kill a transmission so quickly, you had to have done something wrong. With so many drivetrain problems, it all falls back to your driving.
