2002 Honda Civic Si 2.0 i-VTEC DOHC

Summary:

A very good, solid ride for an economy car price

Faults:

None so far. I learned how to drive a manual tranny vehicle with this car, and it still runs very smoothly, despite the minor abuse I put it through initially. Honda's reputation for reliability certainly holds for this car.

General Comments:

This would be the third car I have driven for daily use, and so far, I have been very impressed with Honda's choices creating the flagship Civic.

The 2.0 liter i-VTEC engine churns out a nice 160 horsepower, giving it decent acceleration, and more bang than the other Civic trims. Or most other cars on the road, for that matter.

Good handling is also a plus for this car. It eats up tight turns (which I don't encourage anyone to do) and zooms away with ease.

However, I can't shake the feeling that it isn't as nimble as it should be. Several factors such as the above-average clearance height or the poor choice of tires by Honda could be the culprit. That, or I'm biased by my last car- a '93 Integra GS- which is a great-handling car as well.

The appearance department is a toss-up, however. Its my opinion that it has a nice, aggressive exterior, with a roomy interior. It has, in fact, gotten many compliments from my friends, family, and coworkers.

On the flip-side, on some angles, some people think it looks like a shrunken mini-van. So, look at one carefully before you cast your verdict.

As said before, the interior is very roomy, and unlike most hatchbacks, it can sit very tall people comfortably. The bucket seats are very nice as well.

Other accessories suck as the speakers, moon-roof, ac, and others are set up very well, and aside from the side airbags, they all come standard on all Civic Si's.

The best news of all is that many Civic Si's are still on the dealership lots. You might be able to find a 2002 model, like I did, and get around $15.9k for it, as opposed to the sticker price of $19k or more. Honda has other incentives for the Civic Si, so go check it out. You won't be disappointed.

2002 Honda Civic LX 1.7

Summary:

Struts problems

Faults:

POWER WINDOW

BOTH STRUTS have been replaced... and just so that everybody knows it's a factory defect on all civics and if you do complain enough they will replace it... Since they know there is a problem and they are JUST avoiding it.

General Comments:

Decent car...seats are so uncomfortable if you sit in them for more than 10 minutes you will need a chiropractor...

Decent engine >>>eccessive fuel consumption... cheap interior overall...

That is true. The seats are very uncomfortable. When I drive, I have to change positions, very often, so that I can feel comfortable. Even having a pillow behind me does not help. When I drive, it is so uncomfortable that my legs on the drivers' floor are narrow.

Summary:

Unassuming speed from a little bug!

Faults:

None.

General Comments:

This car is amazingly quick and agile. It accelerates rapidly and doesn't lean in the turns. The seats are great and support your up and lower body.

The stock stereo is great. Its loud and has cool tweeters on the doors.

I got a great deal on it because it was a leftover. There lots of them left on dealers lots, and combined with low financing it's a sweet deal.

This car is great around town and winding roads. It is not bad on the highway, but it does not have the comfort of a larger car.

It is a great car for one or two people.

I also have to say, this site it awesome! I wasn't sure about buying this car, but after reading what others said about it, my decision became easier.
