1996 Honda CR-V LX 2.0
Summary:
Great car for everyone
Faults:
Under power; noise on highway.
General Comments:
This is our first SUV. We love it so much.
I bought it at 19k miles from the 1st owner. We drove across the country and put more than 60K miles since I owned it.
The car is still in a perfect condition, great gas mileage, both exterior and interior are still looking good.
Lot of cargo space and leg room.
Thanks to Honda for making such a great vehicle. Definitely, I will buy a brand new CRV for our next vehicle, no doubt!!!
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Hi from a Kiwi,
Yes I experienced a leaking problem in a 1996 CR-V. Basically I put it down to leaves and other debris building up in the front L/H windscreen drain port. This didn't allow the water to escape. Entered the passenger foot well via the wiring loom. Placed small gauze right across under the wipers. So far so good. I still put the hose down that side every so often. This just flushes small dirt and dust buildup out, before it got really wet on that side. My Honda is garaged out under the stars.

Hi from a fellow Kiwi,
I just have taken over ownership of my sister's 1996 CRV; she had a similar problem with water/leaking into the passenger and driver's footwell; turns out there was significant rust under the roof rails at the front on both sides. So have just had that rust repaired, so I'm hoping that has fixed my problem. If you find you are still getting water inside, maybe check up by the roof rails/under them for rust.
Cheers.

My Honda CR-V has leaking problems, left hand side 1st pillar. Has anyone had this problem, and how did they solve it?
