General Comments:

I have had my second-hand Honda C-RV for 8 years now. As a member of the US Military, I have made two cross-country transfers and many, many road trips.

I was in a ugly accident today. The man who hit me had the entire front of his SUV smashed off. My Honda, though not drivable, was amazing. It was definitely the winner of that fight.

This experience has renewed my loyalty to the Honda brand, and even if my poor wee car ends up "totaled", I will get another Honda.

They are like a black lab dog; loyal, trustworthy and always have your back.

Faults:

No major issues.

General Comments:

Overall, a very reliable, solid car.

The interior: does offer plenty of room, easily seats 5, ton of space in the back. The seats are pretty comfortable, and the visibility is great. Had to install a handrest for the front passenger seat (I believe Honda finally made it standard at some point), and add a panoramic rear-view mirror (the original was a bit small), but other than that, no negatives.

The exterior: love the ground clearance (no worries about flash-floods, pot holes, etc). Also comes with AWD and ABS (even though only had to use it a few times, but glad I had them when needed :)

The only real weakness: the 2.L, 146hp engine is not adequate on a highway (even going steady 75mph will keep it over 3000rpm, and it does get really noisy).

The good news: you'll love the gas mileage :)

Faults:

Almost NOTHING.

Oil changes happen every 5 thousand km, but not a big deal, and the Honda dealers take care of it no problem.

General Comments:

The car is very easy to handle. The steering is loose, but not so loose it's hard to handle. Everything is just perfect. No problems with the car besides the battery losing power after almost always charging my laptop with an inverter while driving. It cost around $200 more for a new Energizer battery, but besides that it's great.

When 4 people are in it, it's kind of crowded, but when we had a 3 person trip across the province, it was very easy on gas, but not that comfy with leather seats. They are quite hard, and are not recommended for long trips.

Overall, an excellent car that I would suggest anyone buy if you want a regular everyday car that can do more when you want it to.

Faults:

Rear differential noise when turning right or left. Turned out to be an oil problem. I changed the oil in the differential and the noise was gone.

Other than this, nothing has gone wrong with the car.

General Comments:

Very reliable little SUV. My father owns a CRV too and is also very satisfied with it.

This SUV is not a high tech vehicle. It does what it is supposed to do and it does it well.

It's roomy, good looking, good fuel economy, fully equipped and it handles very well in most road conditions even in the snow.

Faults:

Some negative points are:

* Uncomfortable seats

* Poorly visible Dash mounted clock (you can't see the time if it's sunny)

* Cup holders don't fit most cups and are not sturdy.

* Lacks power (4cyl & low end torque are the cause)

* It needs a good push to get up to highway speed (Due to the 4 cyl. and low end torque)

General Comments:

The 2000 Honda CR-V with All Wheel Drive (AWD) is a great compact SUV for light off road driving.

I've used it during two major snow storms with no problems, it had no difficulties with snow drifts. I've also used it off road to go camping and on unpaved muddy farm roads in upstate NY.
