2003 Honda CR-V LX 4 cylinder
Summary:
Very good vehicle for the hearing impaired
Faults:
The CR-V has been a very reliable vehicle. I perform work on the car myself and it has not been that difficult. Good gas mileage. The CR-V protected my son in bad car accident. At 39,000 a minor seal went bad in the rear. It repair was $70.00.
My biggest issue with the CR-V is cabin noise at highway speeds (60mph+). It makes normal conversation difficult and listening to music a pain. It needs more noise suppression insulation. Better tires help a little bit.
I have a 5 speed manual transmission which I prefer with a 4 cylinder engine. It is not the smoothest. I had a VW Jetta with a linkage stick and the difference is very noticeable. Even though the CR-V is a 4 cylinder the next time I would get an automatic.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Update on my original post 1 year ago today. 2003 CRV still running good. Have 40.5k miles on it. Total expenditures for maintenance at $333 so far. Dueller tires still original and have good tread left. No visits to the Honda dealer except for a 4 wheel alignment that I did because I had a $69.95 coupon. Alignment was actually in good shape.
