Faults:
Not very much!
Replaced brake master cylinder at 120,000.
Clutch was done at 110,000.
Fabric is pulling away from the back of the seats.
Arm rest area on the passenger and driver door seems to be buckling and coming up. (Typical on Del Sol's)
Little door covering the ash tray has broken on more than one occasion.
Left and right horn buttons popped off and hit me while I was driving the car.
General Comments:
Very good handling for such a small car. No body roll even in the tightest turns.
Nice 1.6 Liter engine that has great power. Also has a very smooth shifting 5 speed gear box.
Interior is very futureistic, but lacks practicality. (My Camaro had very big controls and easy to read gages and switches) Cup holders are almost useless, and will not hold anything bigger than a coke can. And don't even think about storing anything in the center console if your thinking about taking any soft of beverage with you. Seats are very uncomfortable on long trips I.E. over 1.5 hours. Also sun visors are almost of no use as well. All power options work well, but the electrical system seems to be squirrelly at times. It seems to me that every time I switch that every time I hit the main window locking switch and switch it back the windows never work. They only start to work a couple of days later. Love the clock on the dash and the little indicator lights telling you when the top is off, the back window is down, or when the trunk has been left open.
Gets great gas mileage for a car with 130k on it. Engine is as quiet as a mouse with no leaks what so ever. Transmission shifts smooth with no her-key jerky motion. Car does burn oil, but not enough to notice between oil changes.
Roof and trunk do not leak at all like some Del Sol owners have complained of (especially the 1993). Roof does rattle constantly though.
This is a great little car for someone looking for a reliable fun in the sun car that will never quit on you.
