2013 Honda Fit Sport 1.5 i-VTEC
Summary:
An inexpensive car for driving enthusiasts
Faults:
When I had an after-market remote start installed (manual transmission), a dash clip came loose and got jammed in the shift linkage. Only 3rd and 4th gear would engage.
A little scary, but it wasn't Honda's or the Fit's fault. Just be careful that you trust after-market installers.
(The remote start is great BTW).
General Comments:
I have barely driven the Fit 1000 miles, but here's what I have so far:
Pros:
- Loves to rev.
- Handles incredibly well.
- Classic Honda feel and sound.
- Incredible storage capacity ("Magic seats").
- Respectable fuel economy.
- I'm 6'5" and have no issues with getting in/out/fitting.
- High resale value.
- Very large after-market for accessories/support/etc.
- 10(!) cup holders.
- Option to play MP3 music from a USB stick in the glove box.
- Power windows/locks.
Cons:
- Stiff cloth seats, which attract animal hair.
- Unusual blind spots.
- Road noise may bother some.
- Interior plastic is prone to scratching.
- No Bluetooth on manual transmission models.

The Fit is an OK little car, but grossly over priced. In helping a friend buy a new car to replace his crappy Corolla, we didn't even look at a Fit, because it was five grand more than other cars in its class.

I considered the Fit while checking out various small cars, but ended up buying a Fiat 500 Sport model, and I'm glad I did.
I average 40 MPG mixed driving, it has more features than you can get as standard on any other similar vehicle, and it is as solid as a rock; the build quality is obvious. You can get a base model Fiat for around 13,500, and even the base models have all the good features.
I bought mine from a Fiat dealership, and it was better than any other dealership I've ever been in. And no, I do not work for Fiat; I'm just a huge Fiat fan now that I've checked out the competition and made the right choice.
Do yourself a favor and check out the Fiats before you buy anything else; you'll be glad you did.

FIAT: Fix It Again Tony. Fiats are among the worst cars on the planet... Period.

My brother owns a Fiat 500 and it is truly a poorly screwed together car. Some of the problems with the rear suspension could not be fixed at any cost and would cause severe tire wear. He can't sell it because he owes more than it is worth. Now it is starting to smoke and burn oil at 100000 miles after highway trips. Do yourself and your sanity a favor and buy a Honda.

It's far too expensive. For what you pay, you can get a Civic base model for not much more. The Toyota Yaris is less expensive, and a solid little car. I love mine. Considered the Fit, but the cost turned me off.
