2000 Honda Odyssey EX 3.5
Summary:
Overall it is a good product, but for the money I would have expected better reliability
Faults:
Brakes had to be machined at 50000 km.
Transmission was replaced at 86000 km.
In-dash Clock light hasn't been functioning for over a year.
Some rumbling sounds are coming from the right power sliding door.
General Comments:
I loved this van and thought it was an excellent family vehicle. It gets reasonable gas mileage, has enough power, and is large enough to accommodate a group of people or cargo. Since my transmission failure at 86000 km though, I am suspicious of how long this new one will last, and what else may go wrong. I had always been a big believer in Honda reliability and this incident has seriously shaken my confidence.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I have the 2000 Odyssey and have the same problem that the sliding door on the passenger side does not fully latch in after closing. The door needs a "calibrated" shove to fully latch it.
I'm happy for you that your air conditioning works - so far. My air conditioner failed after 33,000 miles, well under the 36,000 mile warranty limit. Honda refused to fix it under warranty because I had the Odyssey for almost 40 months, less than 3 months over the warranty limit. I certainly would have expected a company concerned with its reputation to have fixed at no charge under the warranty. Honda no longer deserves its alleged good reputaion in my mind.
