Reliable and totally worth my investment. I paid cash. Forgot how much. LOL
Throttle body failure. Fixed by the dealer replacing it at a cost of $1,200.
Rear wiper works occasionally.
Other than that, it has been a good vehicle. Excellent in heavy snow and ice with only 4x4, no chains.

Overall costs, it's the worst vehicle we have ever owned
Uses a lot of oil.
10 years old, and we have to total it because the whole underneath of car is rusted, won't even let us drive it from garage.
My car is beautiful, the interior is leather, all the bells and whistles, moon roof, no rust on the body at all.
But we have no car now because it has been labeled unsafe to drive. It's 10 years old!

You ought to be ashamed of yourselves, Honda junk
Everything under the sun has gone wrong with this truck.
My husband has replaced all gaskets in the engine 3 times; we've not even owned it 5 years yet.
The dashboard is lit up like a Christmas tree.
The back windshield wiper doesn't work.
My engine just threw out all the oil for no reason, and I now have a rod of some sort and knocking. I only finally owe 2 thousand to pay it off. I'm unemployed and have no idea what I'm gonna do.
It really sounds like Honda, who put an Isuzu engine in a Honda should replace all of this. I took really good care of this truck and this is what I get in return.
Everyone has the same thing wrong, I'm trying to go to school and now I have no vehicle to drive there. I need a job, but how can I get one when I don't have a car. This is so sad, do you think they really care about us???
I searched the internet for weeks for a safe SUV for my twin grandsons to be in, what a joke Honda.

Just to make it clear, even though I own a '94 Passport, they are not made or even touched by Honda in anyway. They are simply a Isuzu Rodeo with Honda badges and a Honda VIN. They were built at a Subaru-Isuzu plant in So. If you want to chew someone out, contact Isuzu!
And by the way... my 1994 Passport has a 2.6 4 cylinder with a 5 speed manual and it has 265,000 miles on it, and the only thing I had to do was a head gasket, and normal wear items. I love my Passport!
Excellent, stylish and fun
Really minor stuff. The only major repair came after I towed a boat from Columbus, Ohio up into Michigan. When I got back, I started to notice some issues with the transmission and found it had to be replaced. It had 70K miles on it, so the added strain was on a six year old system.
Interior is immaculate, no issues with anything except the passenger seat belt which doesn't work quite right. It continually tightens, but won't loosen while driving. My wife hates this, but it is really minor.
I really, really enjoy driving this car. I know it is an Isuzu with some Honda labels and design bits, but I don't really care about that. I have not noticed that it uses any more oil than any other vehicle I've owned. It handles exceptionally in the snow and ice of North Dakota (we live in Grand Forks these days) and the new transmission makes me feel incredibly safe.
I plan to take this car to Colorado to go Ghost towning in the mountains and have no reservations about taking it off-road or challenging the vehicle. I would recommend this to just about anyone.
Best car advice applies here: Regular oil changes, keep it in a garage and you'll enjoy many years together.

Well, since you really don't need an SUV for only 2 children, why don't you look into a Honda Civic. Or if you don't trust Honda anymore, then go for a Toyota Corolla. You can usually pick up a mid-90's Corolla for little money. And if you find one that was well taken care of then you shouldn't have any problems. The mentality of people who think they need to have an SUV for their (usually) 2 children is amazing to me. I have 2 kids myself, and the biggest vehicle I've ever owned was a 2002 Nissan Maxima. The rest have been mid-90's Accords and Civics, and I now have a Hyundai Elantra. My kids are just fine. My husband was in an accident with my last Civic and my kids got out of the car with no injuries. Was it scary? yes. But my kids survived just fine.
