1995 Hyundai Accent L 1.5L Gas
Summary:
Zippy gas miser and fun to own
Faults:
I bought my Accent used, in 2000. Right away I had a problem with the exhaust pipe from the manifold, which they fixed immediately, no charge. That's my one good dealing with Hyundai service.
The windows on both doors were extremely stiff to roll up (manual handles) and down. When I called the dealer they told me to spray silicone lubricant into the tracks, which lasts only until the next rainfall, and you have to keep doing it over and over.
The cable clip on the drivers' door window has now snapped off and the window will not roll up OR down. I am currently waiting to hear from Hyundai whether they will replace the mechanism in a goodwill process or how much it will cost me to have them repair it for me. I've driven cars for over 25 years and cannot believe they would use plastic wheels & pulleys to roll the manual windows up and down - they are cheap and even on an inexpensive car, how much would it have taken to put metal pulleys and wheels on a high-tension mechanism, anyways???
Other than these latest problems, I do love my purple 95 Accent though. I'm looking at the Hyundai ElantraGT next though, just for a little more highway boot.
General Comments:
Hyundai should really look at where they put the plastic working parts in their cars. Other than that I have no real complaints, for now.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

To my prior post:
I test drove a 2 door Accent (I owned a 4 door) and I loved the test drive... I miss driving my accent around town. I have a Beretta now and it is great on the highway, but sucks in the city. My Accent was the oppoiste.
~~Bonus now that I live in the city and I lived in the country when I had my Accent (I know I purchased back ward...duhh!!!).~~
I may consider buying another Accent since it drives nice and since I live in the city now, the windows did stick a little in this test drive as well...HMMMM???
