2001 Hyundai Accent GS 1.6L
Summary:
It left a sour taste in my mouth like old sushi
Faults:
The car seems to have a hard time gathering power and shifting when the overdrive is turned off.
I had to have the O2 sensor replaced more than 3 times already.
My tires wore very badly within 3 months requiring multiple alignments.
If you plan on going over 55 miles per hour plan on having your head vibrated off your shoulders.
The steering in this car is extremely choppy and sharp, like driving a go cart.
The exhaust is loud and very noisy at 4000 rpms.
To go from 0 to 60 miles per hour seemed to take the take my car at least one hour screaming between 4000 and 5500 rpm.
The cars brake pedal had to be mashed completely to the floor for the car to go into drive.
General Comments:
I would never consider buying another Korean automobile ever again!
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

I just want people judge a car for what it is. The Hyundai Accent is priced extremely low, and so some leeway should be given when thinking about its performance.
I'm sorry to see that www.carsurvey.org doesn't want offensive material posted, but allowed this person to say that "this left a bad taste in my mouth like old sushi". Sushi is a Japanese food. Hyundai is a Korean car, but this commenter seems to have confused his bigotry (unless it's against Asians in general).
He also saw fit to proclaim all Korean cars to be unfit because of his dissatisfaction with one particular low-priced automobile. I'm sure that if he had plunked down $18,000 for a Hyundai Sonata instead of $9,000 for the Accent, he would have been much more satisfied. Let's not judge a whole country based on one bargain priced automobile.
In case people want to know, I am not Korean, I am American.
