Faults:

My Hyundai has gone through few repairs, normal wear and tear.

I needed to replace my tires at 30,000 miles.

General Comments:

The car doesn't have a lot of pickup at 130 horsepower.

I got a car alarm with remote locking so I can find my car in the garage easier. I will never get another car without this feature.

There is ample trunk space for a small four-door sedan.

The seats are comfortable.

My arm rest is getting worn where I rest my left arm. I can feel the plastic cracking under my elbow. But, the fabric on top is still in good condition.

Faults:

I have had some minor episodes with this car.

Fuel injection cleaning has to be done more frequently than cars I have owned in the past. The car will putt putt and the fuel economy gets funny when its time to be done. I say about every 12,000 miles.

The tire size is hard to find.

I have had window drops - 3 so far-but not the motors themselves. Evidently when I locked my keys in the car --the lock smith might have messed up the - strange assembly line of plastic rope inside the car door. But all 3? This started to happen after 73,000 miles. Costs about $99 to fix.

Other than that-I have had no serious problems.

General Comments:

I really bought the car with the intent to run it down to the ground. I am a commuter who didn't want to buy a new car and then run up all the silly mileage and kill its value. So I purchases the Hyundai for its very reasonable price, its comfort and of course the piece of mind 10/100,000 warranty.

I just can't kill this car. I am a faithful car owner with regular oil changes and maintenance checks. I really believe this makes all the difference.

Faults:

115,000 miles - Clip in the window motor snapped.

General Comments:

When I bought my car from a reliable neighbor, he warned me that though he had never had a back seat passenger in it, he had problems with the windows. Generally the car was used by one driver with no passenger, and both front window motors failed and were replaced under warranty. After the warranty ended, the back two failed and were replaced at his cost.

When it happened to me, I found out what had failed. A small plastic clip that holds the window up snapped. You cannot buy another clip. You must purchase the whole assembly at $170 if you install it. I re-routed the wire and tied it in a knot to keep the window up. I will not even tell you how many hours it took.

When my second window (both of these were rear windows I had never used) failed, I opened it and supported it with PVC pipe. I cut a groove in until I can get some time to go back and tie the wire in a knot. My concern is what if this happened to the front window, which I happily roll up and down all day long. I wish I could switch to manual windows, and I would be happy.

In the meantime, I hope the car does not catch fire, because I won't be able to roll down a window to get out, and at this rate my 3rd (7th if you count the previous owner) window might go too.
