Faults:

Due to some financial difficulties that I have encountered last year, I have to sell my 3 Series, and bought the Sonata because of the looks.

I thought that I had a very great vehicle, then suddenly at 2000 miles it's started to turn left on the highway, which is very unsafe, since I drive 80 miles each day, and I usually drive my kids to school before going to work.

I did take it to the dealer, but they say nothing's wrong with the car. I experienced this kind of problem all time, and now I'm convinced that I bought a piece of trash. I'm trying to sell it at very low price. Screw Hyundai.

Faults:

I love the styling, it's great. Every one of my friends asks me "is that a new Lexus"?

But they don't know that I'm having headaches left and right since I bought this car.

At first, there is a violent vibration during start up, so I brought it to the dealer, and they told me the engine support is damaged (a defect), so it was replaced under warranty, but took 3 months before they did it. Then afterwards, while on the freeway, the engine stalled again. Same story, brought it back to the dealer, and as of now, I have no car, because it such a nuisance to own this car that is very very unreliable.

Faults:

Nothing so far, the car has been extremely reliable.

The only faults that I have with the car are that the bottom seat cushions could be a bit longer, as I am a big man (6'3", 375 lbs).

The other fault is that I wish the car had alloy wheels, but it's not a big deal. Guess I could have purchased an SE or Limited to take care of that problem!

General Comments:

This car is underrated. It handles very well, and although not sporty, is very solid. Not a race car, but not a slug either (I've seen other drivers with base model 4 cylinder, easily driving at 100+ mph on the highway).

I do not understand why some people say that the car has a soft suspension, but gets rough over uneven pavement and bumps. I feel that the suspension is tuned a little tighter than usual, but it's not jarring. The suspension of any car that is driven over rough road surfaces will feel somewhat "rough".

The interior is very modern and updated. The car feels more upscale than it actually is. Also, with the base four cylinder engine, it has more than enough power. It is not like the V6, but it is very adequate and powerful. I drive upstate NY every other weekend, and go over hills and valleys. The car takes the terrain with no problems, and I have enough reserve power for passing and going up inclines. Like I said, this car may be considered a "plain Jane," but the quality and performance outweigh individual preconceptions.

As for maintenance, the only thing that has been done is oil changes (synthetic), a wheel alignment and balancing/rotations, that's it - no problems at all.

Nothing at all.

General Comments:

Wonderful design, plenty of power, amazing styling.

If you're not Mario Andretti, the Sonata can get 40+ MPG on the highway. I get about 28-30 local.

It has a fantastic stereo and a massive trunk. The engine bay is organized and simple/spacious enough to do your own work. The paint quality is better than my Porsche. Build quality is as good as BMWs I have owned.

You can't go wrong for the price, considering the number of standard features you get. It is an excellent commuter car.

I would recommend, and have recommended, this car to everyone that has asked. Oh, and it's actually pretty decent in snow too!
