A very expensive bargain
Seats were in very poor condition, the leather was destroyed, dirty injectors, electronic system completly damage, the trunk wouldn't open automatically.
Engine was good though after all the miles and abuse of the former owner, still a beautiful car, still handles very good, cabin gloomy.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Most beautful interior I've ever seen
Door lock does not lock (could be door latch)
Sunroof stick, unable to open.
Generally I love this car. It is beautiful inside (I got the tan seats and brown dashboard) and outside. Infiniti knows how to build a luxury vehicle.
I've got some negative comments though.
First of all, the tranny shifts really rough when switching from 1st to 2nd gear.
My engine is malfunctioning when hot, but (still) drives. It just hesitates terribly. Probably needs someone to look at it.
I'd sure buy another Infiniti (hoping the tranny problem would not happen on it...)
I recommend Infiniti to anyone - 100% (much nicer car than its biggest competitor - Acura)

A perfect car
Everything runs well so far, except that one time I couldn't start my car due to the loose tooth.
I bought this car when it was 8 years old; however, I'm really satisfied with the performance.
The previous owner upgraded the tires to a higher level so that it's very quiet inside.

Be prepared to be noticed in this gorgeous car!
I've had no problems so far. I anticipate the usual (I owned an Altima before this, so I kind of know what to expect). Brakes, cooling, engine, and transmission are in excellent shape.
I loved my Altima, and I love this beauty even more. Elegant, smooth as silk, and it gets lots of attention!
I was fortunate to get a high mileage car with excellent maintenance. I had been looking at Jaguar as well, but when I saw this car, I had to have it. The quality of Japanese makes was a big deciding factor. It drives like a brand new car.

Lemon or just a bad car?
To start off with I think I may have come across a previously damaged car. I'm not sure if that explains it...
Engine noises, rocking & whining until it warms up good.
A/C out.
Electrical cat and mouse.
Early rust EVERYWHERE.
Front suspension is quick to go soft.
The trunk is way too small.
I fear I may have bought a lemon.
Have heard great things from other people...
But the gas mileage was also atrocious, the car wants to be driven fast and gas prices are on the rise...

I own an Infiniti J30, I have close to 90000 miles on it, and it's going strong (I make a lot of trips in it from St. Louis to Toronto or further, in all kinds of weather - it's never let me down!).
For engine noises (i.e. rocking and whining) you should have an Infiniti dealership change the spark plugs and reset the idle (approximately $150 US). It makes a huge difference! If it doesn't, then it's conceivable that the engine suffered damage from a broken timing belt (these things MUST be changed between 60000 and 65000 miles, otherwise when they break, they cause engine damage and put other things such as other belts and chains out of alignment, leading to rocking and whining till warm up).
As for a soft front suspension, J30's, depending on where the car was initially bought and driven, i.e. in a state where salt or other chemicals are used in the winter, are known to have the silicone seals in the torsion bar erode, causing a silicone leak and leading to a soft suspension. Replacement can be done at a cheaper price than the Infiniti dealer, at virtually any suspension shop.

I own a J30T. I really like this car, but it has cost me lots of money. The leather on the top of the door panels has been getting worst just from normal wear. I now have 147,000 miles on the car. When the car runs, it runs well. The exterior is excellent. It is a very good looking car. The maintenance has been kept up on the car, but the car has cost me over $4,000.00. in the last few months. Something is always wrong with the car and it always costs at least $400.00 to $500.00 to have it fixed. The ABS light came on last night. I got out of the car and it continued running. Today it sets in the garage, dead.
