1992 Infiniti Q45
Summary:
Let down
Faults:
Had to replace all the brakes. Steering re-tightened, new fan, radiator, knock sensor, water pump. Now, the drive shaft and fuel pump went out. So far I have put in about $4,500 in repairs. Bought the car for $6,500.
General Comments:
When it runs it is fine. Reputation on car sinks after 120,000. Yes, it is a good engine, but I had it in the repair shop every other month and dealership repairs were always above $500. Not worth the investment due to costly repairs. Thought I was smart paying cash for the car and now I am in a money pit.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

1992 Infiniti Q45 has been an excellent car. Had a problem with a bearing, but it has done rather well. Smoothly gliding between speeds and reliable as a horse both in power and flexible driving. Brakes are an issue, but it has done well with lots of miles on it. Haven't had repairs on it except the normal wear and tear. Both parts and service are expensive on the luxury, but its acceleration and handling has been a pleasure to drive. It is not your normal car. A little healthy driving habits can save you tons of bad performance problems on the car. Including a taste for tasteful driving and not stamping the brakes will cut the wear and tear on the brakes and the tires. I am enjoying my car and it is a good deal to buy in the used car market. Good Luck!

Whatever you paid for it, it is still a high buck luxury car, and if not maintained as such, it will get expensive very quickly to repair. These is true of all luxury cars, especially with V8s.
Cars are usually dumped when repairs are deferred so the cost to restore is greater than the market value of the car. It pays to inspect carefully to find the well maintained ones. They cost a little more, but will last much longer.

1992 Q45, I am having steering issues, including tie rods, broken shock absorber, linkage and now the steering pump. $2200 dollar quote for parts and labor??? I was told the car was a buy and will last for 200k miles? Maybe they meant kilometers-
Disappointed is just the beginning.
